Plenty of cheap Shackleton spares.  Acquired a few part started ones for butchery and spares recovery.

How anout using the stretched nose Lancastrian as a non-military Survey aircraft ?

as to use for Lincoln nose = on a Vickers Bomber ?

I do have the plans for the Vickers type C blown up somewhere and yes, that would need the RAE nose adopted by the Lincoln.

As for non military stuff... I do aircraft that kill people. I do not ponce about with civvie stuff. Stretched Lancastrian could be a long range ELINT or photo recce job.  Although then again, the Halifax Z nose does fit a Lanc, as Martin has proved.

Quote "I'm going to rethink the EDSG/DSG/Night Blenheim - on the grounds that I've already done it once, although that was more in the normal bomber scheme.  Then again, I may do it anyway as it's a nice combination of colours."

Certainly sounds an interesting combination

I'm reading it Lee.  ;D ;D

Looks like you'll be able to do a 'One Man MB display' from the sound of it, but it'll be good to see the progression that MB made with their various types nonetheless.

The Skua, a much ignored aeroplane to my mind, but it did quite a reasonable job over Norway when needed. I know the FAA wouldn't even have thought about it, but I've often thought that a Dagger might work well on that longish nose.

Looking forward to seeing the stuff you are bringing to Hudders' Lee

Whilst I'm looking for that, I'll dig out the Airfix HP Hampden, as I rather like the idea of a Coastal Command one re-engined with Bristol Hercules, package guns either side of the nose and rockets under the wings.  They'd be used for anti-U-Boat operations in the Atlantic rather than the Beaufighters, and given that the aircraft could carry a bomb load too (alternatively depth charges, mines or torpedo), the RAF would have a more useful ASW aircraft and the Beau's could be used for night intruder work or ASW work over the North Sea or Bay of Biscay where the Hampden would be at risk more from the Luftwaffe's fighters.

I appreciate this idea, and would very much like to see how you progress with it.   The defence of the  Western Approaches needs creative thinking like this!   I suppose you can even sell some of them off at the end of the war. Caribbean states might take them off  Coastal Command's hand for patrol duties .    Guatemala?  Venezuela??  even Dominican Republic???

I did like the MB 5 and Defiant at Huddersfield

Interesting idea - Ju52 with Mercuries. Perhaps it was the one that cam eto pick up the German Diplomats at Croydon on 3/3/39 and had a few problems. In the end said diplomats had to be returned to Germany via train and then ship to Rotterdam. The 52 saw the rest of the War out on clandestine duties for the RAF

Looks like you are on a bit of a roll Lee

Like the idea of a Yugoslav Beaufighter, come in handy with that long coastline. I've got an alternative Beaufighter idea in mind at the moment and, as a bonus, I have the transfers for it  Plan to use the Airfix Firedog boxing.

I'm particularly looking forward to the Blenheim's Lee. Not an aircraft you see on the tables that often

Very true Chris. I was expecting a slew of them when Airfix bought out their lovely short nosed B1, but it didn't happen.

I've done a fair few Blenheim whiffs over the past ten years or so.  Really should gather them together for a decent display.
