Your'e on a roll mate that's for sure.

Talking of cataloging stuff in the Spitfire thread I was thinking exactly the same thing the other day as I really do need to know what I've built and how many duplicate/triplicate etc boxing's I have.. At least mine won't take me anywhere near as long. ;)

Interesting to read your idea for a Banff Wing Mustang escort Lee. I had a similar idea but was going to do it in Extra Dark Sea Grey over White.

White wouldn't fit in with the time - look at the Mosquitos and Beaufighters with Sky undersurfaces.

Doubt it.  They'd stick with Sky - the FAA did until the late '50s.

I have been tempted with white disruptive distemper over the top surfaces for operations further north.  Possibly for hooked Spitfire 22s operating from partisan held temporary airstrips in Norway.

There was a very short lived scheme (early 43) used on some Beaufighters which had white undersides with a high demarcation. There's a couple of photos in the Key publication bookazine on the type. I've used it on a couple of my builds, looks good.

That's partly what inspired my white Beau, although more post war GR types.

Very productive year so far Lee. Looking forward to seeing some of these at the Tyneside Show

Interested to see your thoughts re a desert scheme Wellesley. Had similar ideas for the Vallom one I have in the stash. Was going to give it sky blue rather than black undersides.

It might look a bit like this, but with shorter wings......  ;D ;)

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Reading your Spitfire and non Spitfire threads Lee just makes me wonder whether you have a vague idea of how many kits you actually have ?  :o

Also I read with interest that the Magna MB3 contains vac-form parts ? I've not seen this kit in an un-built state and wasn't aware of that

Numbers?  The truth is that I really don't know.  I can put a guestimate on some things.  For example, I'm sure I have about 35 Skybirds Hornets - sounds like a lot, but there's four different marks and many different schemes.  Pretty sure I have an equivalent number of Frog/Novo ones.  From recent digging, I know I've 5 Aeroclub Venoms.  As for the Spitfires...  I had a lot.  A lot, and that was before last year's Home Bargains treasure hunt, not to mention all the Eduard overtrees and multi-boxings.  I really need to prune things back.  Or build them.  The enforced time off I have at the moment is helping.

Magna MB3.  Just the canopies are vacform, but the highback one is integral with the spine.  The kit is as the bubbletop version which the real thing never had the chance to get as the only prototype crashed.  I really would like another one of the Magna kits and I'm unsure of what scheme it'll end up in.  Likely 2TAF.

Like the idea of a Hornet torpedo fighter in particular  May well pinch it to go with my Turbo Meteor torpedo fighter  ;)

Fine, go ahead.  Although unless you're wanting to fight the Special Hobby kit, the old Frog one is a good one to just build.
