The Wooksta!

Thanks for the offers, guys but there's no need.  I have various MB5 kits available to play with but didn't want to chop the noses off a perfectly good kit and so went and bought a Ferret to do precisely that with the spare fuselage.  I didn't want to scrounge a spare fuselage from the guys who'd be most likely to do a twinned MB5 either.

The real irony is that I actually had a pair of MB5 noses kicking about in the spares box for a number of years from the two Pegasus ones I'd re-engined but they went across the pond for Sequoia Ranger's US Highball Mosquito.   In another irony, I rather like the markings that AZ come up with for the Ferret.

I should clarify what I mean when I say I don't do twins.  I'm against the fad of twinning aircraft that were never twinned because, as I've already argued, it's a lazy man's way of getting on the whiff bandwagon.  However, whiffing an existing twin - such as alternate markings for an F-82 or a developed Bf 109Z (using a pair of K fuselages and all the late 109 mods) or Me 609 (swapping the 309 fuselages for 509 ones) - is acceptable.

Eh? Tell us more please.

Does it come with TWO fuselages then?

You get the original MB5 kit plus a new two seat fuselage, plus internal gubbins and wingtip tanks on a new sprue.

There's a blister/bulge piece that i can't work out what it's for - some kind of tropical intake?

Not seen that AW project before Lee. Certainly looks more "modern" than either the Harrow and Bombay as you say.

So where are you going to put al these rather large aircraft ?

Your guess is as good as mine!

I'd like some extra shelves in the cabinets so they can take the retired Spitfires, so the Whitleys et al can go in the vacated boxes.

Be interesting to see if you get any of these "big boys" done for Northern Show ?

One of the Whitleys will make it for sure.  Possibly a Warwick, but I'm relying on someone with a reputation for unreliability, so that's dubious.  I may have sourced another one, but more as and when I know it.

The work bench must be a bit of a sight with all these twins being built ? I struggle at the moment and I've only got the Whitley vying for space with the 262 and Attacker !

I have looked back through the posts Lee, but can't find it. Who's Hampden are you building ?

Airfix.  It's one that's been in the deep stash for a while - even got a pair of Aeroclub resin engines for it.

I've planned to get the AZ reboxing at some point.

Quoteref Warwicks. One of which for a version with four Merlins or Hercules engines...

Now THAT sounds interesting, I've never heard of that before. A bit like a min-Windsor transport?
