Revell Hawk T.1 drop tanks are just about the right size and shape.  I have some if you want them - you'll just need to add fins.

The camera blister is an odd call.  Enlarging a P.15 plan wasn't especially helpful, and drawings in the Mason book suggest it's not the same as what the Saudi F.53s got.  The latter looks more like the front 2/3s of half of a 1980s-style Airfix cluster bomb, which is what I'll be using on my PR.8.

I've an Airfix Hawk somewhere, would they do?  Hunter gun blisters may work too, and I know there's some of them hiding in a spares box somewhere, although I may need them for the Rapier.

Ooh, don't know about Airfix Hawk tanks, only know about the Revell ones as I'd dug some out for the P.15 I'd mulled doing for the Recce GB.

IIRC the short Airfix Hunter tanks are pretty close, but the Sabrinas not (too small) and you'd need four of them.  One of them might work for the forward facing camera fairing.

The wingtip ones? Yeah, I'm using Revell Hunter ones as I have some spare. The developed nuclear strike aircraft is getting Matchbox Hunter ones as I found them somewhere.

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Magic! Thanks.

Definitely going with the red devil's option - although... They may count as a sexy sqn, so perhaps the other option?

You're not half rattling through the Lightning variations. All sounding fascinating and largely new to me so I spent some of the recent sales proceeds on Tony Wilson's book on the topic.

Expect a P1A and P6 at 1/72 to get drafted up and land on your workbench at some point over the next few months

The P6 is high on my wants list, so I'm already salivating at the prospect.

Reads like more brilliant progress on the P.8 family - with any luck I'll get your P.187 to you ready for further fettling by Friday. Have spent a couple of days perusing the Tony Wilson book and musing on future projects

The Wooksta!

Both P.8s you sent on Monday are now cleaned up and the basic assembly of the fuselages is just about done

Just need to mould the IFR probe and some blisters.

"It's probably a consignment of very hard drugs!"

Close, very close. Your P.187 will arrive in an Arran Ice Cream branded box which is very moreish but not quite addictive (apart from the Arran Gold flavour which may actually be a potent mood altering substance)

Excellent point in your thread about the Fireflash missiles I'd bundled with the AW.58 not being appropriate for the type

I had just included them based on the speculative side views at https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/armstrong-whitworth-aw-58.37009/ but will have a rethink of what I include in the kit as weapons options

I have to admit I'm a bit jealous of your moulding capability. That's a very neat way to sort missing pieces etc.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

The Wooksta!

It's an expensive* and messy learning curve, but not beyond the reach of many modellers.

*Although in real terms the price has tumbled.  I was paying £30 for a kilo of moulding rubber and about £20-25 now.

I wasn't complaining about their inclusion - they look fabulous and certainly the best released so far - but the AW58 was intended as a research machine first and an operational type later.
