Hi everyone, thought I'd let you know what I have coming up.

Available at Hendon will be a new 1/72nd Hawker Hunter F.4 conversion set, designed for the Revell base kit. This includes tail pipe, straight leading edges, hollow fuselage plug with correct vents, improved main wheels and new nose leg with larger nose wheel (from our T.7 improvement set). These will be available as a resin set only, or has a package with Freightdog decal sheet 'Brits abroad Pt.III' which includes two applicable decal options.

The 1/72nd A-4C Skyhawk conversion is ready, just waiting for the Airfix base kit to come out at beginning of June. The set consists of a new nose, drop tanks, three BR-250 bombs (carried one on centreline and two on outbound pylons, conveniently included in the Airfix kit), upper fuselage avionic hump, Omega ariel package under tail, semi-circular VOR antenna either side of fin and blade ariel behind cockpit. The A-4B weapons set includes the same items but instead of the nose has a tripple ejector rack carried centreline for the BR-250 bombs. Although it won't be on sale at Hendon, I'm hoping to have a built up one on display thanks to test shots kindly provided by Airfix.

Another small resin item is a new five blade Spitfire Mk.XIV/XVIII propeller and engine cover designed for the AZ Model kit, although it could be modified to fit the Airfix PR.XIX to. it is my intention to also include these items as a bonus in the remaining stock of AZ/Freightdog boxings of the Mk.XIV/XVIII kits, of which there is around fifty left.

Also due out by beginning of June is something a little different (little being the word), a 1/144th Gulf War Tornado weapons set (GR.1 and GR.1A) for the Revell kit, this includes two JP-233's, TIALD pod, line scan and laser rangefinder. The set is very small and will include parts to build two GR.1 and one GR.1A models. If successful a GR.4 set is also in preparation, and other 1/144th modern weapon loads will be covered with some whif potential I'm sure.

On the decal front we have a very simple sheet to build one of two Dambuster Lancasters in the post-war role during 'Operation Guzzle' in 1946, for the deposal at sea of the remaining 'Upkeep' mines. This covers red and (double printed for density) white serials and codes only for ED906 or ED909 coded YF-A and B, and makes use of the remaining kit decals included in the Revell base kit. Both these airframes had taken part in the orginal raids of 1943.

Thats enough for now, apologies if some of the above have been announced before but not released, they have a habit of slipping sometimes. No prices yet but I'll update later in the week when fixed. The Hunter F.4 and Lancaster decals will be available to order from my website by the end of the week.

Rest assured I have some nice project stuff also underway to be ready for July and beyond, but Paul is being kept rather busy with the above resin bits, plus casting restocks of bloody Halifax sets, will they ever stop selling?!......lets hope not!

Thanks chaps.

Colin

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

You have a PM, Colin!

Any chance of asking Paul about the Spitfire contraprop he did for the F21?  That would be a neat conversion for the forthcoming Airfix kit as there were a few contraprop 22s, although they never saw actual service.  At least in reality...

PM received, will do! Paul is working on a Seafire 46 conversion with contraprop for the Airfix Mk.22, although I think its not exactly the same as carried on Mk.21's or 22's (being same as FR.47). I have not seen one yet, but can do you some contra-props on their own when ready, probably next month (I'll hopefully have them at Coventry in June).

Sound, especially with the non-availability of the Aeroclub one - have you seen how much they're going for on ebay?  I was bidding on one and got outbid, finally ending up at £12.50!

May need a fair few, partly for whiffing (F14, F21 and F22) but also for the Ventura/Jays Seafire 47s - I've about half a dozen in the stash and don't fancy building the prop...

I suspect you may be getting a few repeat orders from me!

Excellent news on the 1/144 weapons, I'll be getting a few of those. This could be just what my Pitroad TSR.2 needs  ;D

Hi Colin

Now that the Airfix A-4 Skyhawk has started to appear (well in the the Dogfight Double boxset) when are the conversion sets scheduled to be available ?

Cheers

Hi Geoff,

Sorry for late reply, been away. Paul is casting last few tomorrow so expect to have them available on my website this weekend.

Thanks, Colin

The Wooksta!

The Griffon cowling and prop is a beautiful piece of casting and I was particularly impressed with the prop - the nicest Griffon 5 blader I've ever seen was the one for the Pegasus Spitfire F22 that came out in 1992 and this prop is equally as good (I'll have to compare them to check).  The price is definitely value for money, given that the Quickboost Griffon 5 blade prop is currently £4.50 at Hannants and that is just the prop, the cowling being a separate item at £3.30.

Definitely a winner!

Cor, that does look the BUSINESS Colin!

I feel a need for more than one of those sets.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I think I need to up the price! Well spotted on the prop, the master is a re-worked Pegasus one (since I have the Pegasus masters), amazing that such a nice prop should be found in such an awful kit.

Paul is actually working on some whif stuff for me at the moment, in between casting sessions so nice to be keeping him busy.

That Supermarine twin?

The third tool (1992) of the 22 that Pegasus did wasn't that bad.  Have you seen the original tool?!!!!

No not the twin, something faster (don't get too excited though, not a complete kit).

I build the original Pegasus Spit 22 when I was about 14, complete with clear plastic wings. It was only years later I reaslised it was a copy of the Hawk kit but with some wheelbays added. That was my first short run kit, I think I had three of them but sold the other two on years later. I don't remember the second one, but I have quite a few plastic parts left for the third, the wings seem too thin and the fuselage is a bit slab sided.
