Only made a few holes for adding "plumbing" etc to the bay so no pictures yet as I am saving them up rather than adding just one here or there.

Mind you, on a DC10 they probably used Skydrol....

Next job is to build the Mk46 torpedoes (cut bits of sprue to length) then I can mess around with the attachment points.

Some may wonder why I am worrying about this now rather than later. It's simple, my fingers will fit into the weapons bay far easier and the bay is far easier to handle at this stage than when it is firmly glued into the fuselage.

Drips in your eyes?? That's dangerous, the stuff is very corrosive to human flesh! That shouldn't be allowed, and I'm being deadly serious here.

It's how it is 'cos it has a high bulk modulus, doesn't freeze even at ultra-low temperatures, it's pretty non-hygroscopic, plus I suspect it's not that expensive to manufacture.

Oh yes, it's fire resistant too, not a bad idea when it's running past hot jet engines etc.

Mainly spent this evening researching a name for the P-10 which I will divulge later.

I thought some of you may like to know some sizes for the weapons bay...

Length 16' 6"
Width  15'
Minimum Hight 2'
Maximum Hight 6'

That makes a rectangular box 16' 6" by 15' by 2' with a curved area 15' wide with a hight of 4' to go on top of the rectangular area. The Mk46 torpedo is only 12 3/4 " diameter so it will fit into the shallowest parts of the bay with no trouble at all and I should be able to fit several into the deeper parts of the bay as well.

Done absolutely feck all to the model for the last few days, either no time to do anything or like today I have spent an enjoyable day out with some company.

Defiantly need to get the basic shape of the torpedoes cut from sprue so I can finish working on the weapons bay and from there put said weapons bay into the fuselage and make progress which as I said earlier is sadly lacking at the moment.

That may be so but the fun part for Me is the research and planning rather than the execution of the project which is why I have to keep working at  each build or I will never get anything done.

I am actually rather amazed that I have managed to complete two builds so far this year

I ordered an E-3 this morning which will be a pattern for adding a dish to the second of the Revell DC-10's I have. The first is in the doldrums at the moment hoping for an active weekend.
