The IPMS (UK) page in the June addition of Model Aircraft is a nice little article by Chris Ayre on the virtues of Whatif moodelling  ;D  4 photos including Kitbasher's wonderfull Welington/Hurricane Mistel

Even if you don't buy the mag it's worth looking at on the shelves just for this

Sister magazine SAMI has a nice build of the Gruman XF5F Skyrocket in WIF service markings, using the 2 blues and white scheme

Chris is a long time sig member. He asked me for some upto date details about the sig and a few photos for use in that article ;D
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Aah.  I was going to dismantle that one later this year to get a real world Hurricane IIb and a real world Wimpey C.XVI.  Do I disappoint the modelling public now??

NOOOOOoooooooooo!  :o

That one's an icon in its own lunchtime, you can't dismantle it!
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

So the Heller (but Airfix BBMF-boxed) IIc that I had earmarked as a SEAC whif has now got to be converted to a IIb?  Oh no, what to do, what to do????

Have my copy and seen the article!  Owners of the model in the article should autograph a page that we have mounted, framed and put on display at Telford!

My quandary wasn't how to whif the Hurri, but rather should I whif it (and I know what it is I want to do), convert it to a real world IIb (again I know what I want to do), or do I dismantle the 'Op Mistletoe' composite?

Looks like I either don't whif the Hurri in the stash and convert to a real world IIb, or I find another Hurri (a Revell IIb) and do both!

Decided - I will bow to public demand and find a Hurricane IIb kit and save the Op Mistletoe build for the nation!
