But no Twin-Lightning as I can use the other kit for another project.
Of course, do as you prefer. It is normal that my kind of craziness is not striking everyone ;) ;D

I did think, once, about how to build a Lightning with 4 engines in a cruciform layout (with a space in-between for cooling), but I wasn't at all sure where to put the sorely needed additional fuel ...

LOVE it!

They'd be VERY fast, and climb like a homesick angel, so long as the enemy was INSIDE the airfield perimeter.   ;D

Might be easier like this

                               |
                             O O
                 ---------      --------
                             O O

You could build it with two Lightning fuselages side by side that way.  ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Regards
Kit

No need of fuel at all! (on our scale models, not actually flying, just being dreamy objects) ;)

I do have a project that does just that, although it's two sets of pairs of engines all set to go into a larger, single air-fame, so what was a 4-engined craft becomes an 8-engined craft.  I'm just not sure the increase in thrust is worth the increased fuel burn

My engineer worked a bit on the Lightning. So after adding and sanding it, she checks the result:

And starting to paint it

Ready to get the next colors

Nice.

Re overpowered Lightnings, I had an ideas for a thre-engined one, with two engines in the upper position fed by Mirage-style intakes the radome enlarged to make the lower engine's intake a chin intake, and a tandem two-seat cockpit.

Most of the painting has been done now.

Unfortunately, the fuselage was damaged when adding the wings, so I had to use putty, sanding and repaint it.

Now all the smaller parts (not much of them anyway) and then preparing some decals.

I'm intrigued to see what this will end up looking like and who it will belong to ?
