The Lightning is now standing on its wheels, a few more things have to be added.

In parallel, I am working on the decals. Recently I had an issue with decals printed on white decal paper that it did not work. As i have three different brands of it here, i tested it and found out that it is number 2. Putting it in warm water, the decals do not separate from the paper. Better to throw them away.

Doesn't that sort of thing REALLY irritate you?  :banghead:

How can the manufacturers call it 'decal paper' when it doesn't pass the most basic of QC checks? Grrrrrrrrr.....

Needless to say I've had exactly the same problems with a batch I bought some years ago. I'm still waiting for my refund......  :banghead:

..speaking of which, gentlemen - what liquid decal fluid do you use to reinforce the printed decal? I had a plastic bottle for many years, containing some magic liquid decal film, but one day, the bottle broke and I haven't been able to source a replacement.

Suggestions?
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

For my own home printed decals, and for strengthening ones that tend to fall apart (are you listening Hasegawa San?) I use Keen Crystal Clear spray.

Not easy to get hold of in the UK these days as there's only one place that sells it  :banghead: but it's imported so it may be easier to find elsewhere.

After printing decals, I let them dry for 24 hours. Then I use Mr. Metal Primer-R from Mr. Hobby and print over it with a normal brush. Let it dry again for 24 hours and add another layer of it.

I always liked the Me110, even if it was not such a good aircraft in its originally intended role.

So, starting the an 1/72 scale Airfix kit (which seems to be quite good so far), this should be a Me110 used by KG200 zbV (zur besonderen Verwendung), operating in an usual location.

Just reading this issue you blokes have had with decal..when i was building my M60 digger thingy i wanted to use these full cammo decal sheets that come in trumpeters figure sets..ummn yeah that didnt work..they are so stiff even microsol couldnt soften  them and they just shredded when i tried to slide em off the paper..very strange since their not that old.
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .

Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Recently I had some decals printed on a 5 colour laser printer. All colours (except black) have a white printed layer underneath. Opacity is reasonable and the resolution is fine.
I design my decals using Adobe Illustrator and have them printed by https://www.printmetwit.nl/. Their website is in Dutch and English and their prices are very reasonable.

While i have to fetch a few colors, the pilot and gunner are on board. Their flight gear gives a little hint where this plane might operate.

Still waiting for the colors to arrive, some more parts are prepared. So far, it looks as if all parts of the Airfix kit fit quite good.

Maybe there is still a lot of work to do if you plan an asymmetric version with propellers in nose + starboard, no? ;)
