Yes  another Rotodyne, the last one was rather good  (it had a funny name though ;D)
Looking forward to how this one turns out!
(I've still got my Airfix one to finish, but I can't decide between BEA, or Transport Command blue stripe)

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

What about Coastguard, RAF or RN Air Sea Rescue, North Sea Supply run such as Bristows or possibly one of the Oil companies. You could possibly cross kit to create an MPA using a mix of Nimrod bits and possibly Sea King, so sonar boys & dunking sonar .

Most of those are on the list of potentials Geoff, I even did them in thee raft of profiles I did a while back.  I like the idea of SAR, although size is a problem.  MPA is interesting though, not one I've thought of seriously and might be worth dedicating a few brain cells to.

A thought has occured to me, this year is fifty years since the cancellation of the Rotodyne.  I'll hijack TC's subject no more, off to the Themed Builds's thread.....

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

A couple of picture updates.

One showing the cockpit area with the fire extinguisher adding a speck of colour.

The other showing the main fuselage assembled. Had a little trouble getting this one to fit which I don`t remember happening on my last one. I suppose it just shows that not every mould is the same or perfect. It should be a easy cosmetic fix once the two halves have fully bonded.

TC, that was great when you built it and it's still great now.

I like the rescue paint schemes. Nothing  aperson lost and hopeless loves more than seeing an "Angel Flight" circling them!

OGL, that BEA 'dyne looks just SO right! Please bring it to the Coventry Show, I'd love to see it for real.

The picture of that makes me think either B.Cal or Caledonian McBryane for my copy.

I wonder if I could get some Aer Lingus markings to fit a Rotodyne??

The original Airfix F-27 came with them and it's not that much larger. You'd just need to trim down the side stripe.

Or for a later scheme, the A330 Aer Lingus scheme in 1/144 is about the same size too. Go for it!  ;D

Last update from me on this project before my family and I head off down to Cornwall on holiday to, if the forecast can be relied on, practice our flood evacuation procedures....

Tail has been assembled and will also need to minor touch up`s as it didn`t seem to want to fit together very well. Also note that the masking tape has been removed and taken some of the `shine` with it.   :banghead:

Looks like I`m going to have to do this the old fashioned way......

More once I`ve swam back via the West Country........   ;D
