What if data from testing  this unique hybrid fighter were considered promising and P&W decided to go a further step, installing Double Wasp engine in a P-40/36 aiframe?

Lengthen the fuselage a bit, you will need more fuel!  Keep us posted on this one.

Maybe as a joint-venture, with Curtiss signing on as a full R&D partner? ;)

Oh, & I agree with kerick, with that big, heavy (thirsty) engine you will need more weight (& fuel?) aft of the CoG.
