As for the beer keg, you can choose one of the following answers.

1. It`s a little known fact that Carlsberg sponsored the development of the rotodyne, as in their own words, Carlsberg don`t build Rotordynes, but if they did, they would probably be the best rotordynes in the world....`

2. Placed there to cover the slit until I can come up with an ideal replacement.

Some good stuff there, but don't the rivets show up badly on some of them? The real thing is quite smooth, what there is left of it anyway.

That's the nature of the Airfix kit.  The rivets are there if you look for them on the real Rotodyne, and the Airfix kit is fairly accuarte in representing them except that they're very overstated.  If you spend half an hour to an hour lightly sanding it down you can reduce them nicely.  You're going to loose a lot on PSR anyway, the joins are what you'd expect of an Airfix kit that age.

Has the Revell kit been cleaned up?  The panel lines, at least on the sides seem to have been recessed.

I have dug up my started RN COD bird and recommenced work, except my putty is dried out, and anyone who's built an Airfix...

I have putty, so the work is back in progress.
I have two others that would fit. First is another Rotodyne to be USMC, with parts from an AH-1. I have to find a couple new engines for this one, maybe jets, turboprops, or turbofans.
The second is a V-22 plus the details from an SH-60B for an anti-sub SV-22. I'll actually probably do this first, since the Rotodyne is quite a build. Both need an interior of some sort - windows but no insides?

I might take part in this TB. Not with a Fairey Rotodyne, rather with a very modern autogyro "interpretation" - just found a nice basis kit (in Japan), and with some surgery we might get an answer to the lingering question which "tool" can effectively be used against attack helicopters.  

Might take a while to get to the hardware stage (still working on  whif project, and a SF/mecha project with a diorama base is next), but since this TB has no time limit I might add an exotic/futuristic touch.

Yeah, I'd have loved to have seen the whole airframe, or even just the cockpit.

Hehehe, now THERE'S an idea!

I think the tip jets they have are the later ones with the 7 lobe silencers, but it's while since I've taken note. They found one of the rotor blades only a short while ago, presumably at Yeovil, as I was there the day they carried it in. It has a really high sapect ratio, much higher than today's carbon marvels.
