Bars, with Memorial Day just around the corner here in the States, that's a mighty fitting tribute to the men of the Arizona.

First tests for the flight deck:

Just a paper printout so far to check if the dimensions are right. A little bit fine adjustment is still required.
The opening for the lift is now closed in preparation of painting the hull.

A support structure has been added to the starboard side of the ship. This is where the island superstructure will overlap the hull:

Work continues on the flight deck which will be added soon.

The essential painting is done now and the superstructure is also taking the right shape:

Does it ever. Love the Spruance Class, one of the sexiest warships ever. I was thrilled when one did a Great Lakes tour and berthed in Sarnia. Spent half a day on that thing ! This ship is defo an idea I'm saving.

Cheers !

Finally..... the flight deck has been attached to the hull. Superstructure is still provisional, just to see how it fits into place.

In the hangar/lift the crew is preparing a Harrier to be transported to the flight deck.
Had to add this now as its a bit tricky to access the hangar once the flight-deck is in place.
