Sad day on NöNö Bärs shipyard.... Huge construction errors caused engineer to be fired!

The good thing, the hull is now nicely painted and work on the hangar continues. I wonder how much details I should add to it as it will not be that visible later.
This will be the visible part, together with some A7 and F4 prepared so far:

And then...
After removing the protective covers form the flight deck, while painting was going on on the lower side of it, parts of the flight deck were removed together with the Tamiya tape... Now I have a "huge hole" in it. The original engineer was fired an a new one had to take over his job, investigating the damage right now. Hope he gets it done better

It seems as if the new engineer was also not able to do the work correctly, the flight deck has to be completely reopened again and I have to see how to fix the always opening gap in it.

At least a bit progress on the hull itself, the boats are added and some work in the hangar.

For the flight deck, I started with some additional parts as I have to wait until the new paint arrives.

A bit more work in the hangar, it now waits that the flight deck is refurbished to put it on the hull:

As I am now leaving for my summer vacation to the Channel Islands (maybe I see something interesting there, who knows) I put everything together what has been build for the Graf Zeppelin so far:

That already looks great!  It's going to look fantastic when it's all finished.

Cheers,

Vacation time is over, and yes, there are a lot of old German bunkers on the channel islands.

So something that matches to them - a small German Schnellboot, one of 12 that were included in Hellers Kriegsmarine set in 1:400

This time with camo painting:

The complete flotilla:

And work with the Graf Zeppelin continued. The hangar is now done, added some aircraft, tractors and personal (I really like adding them in 1:700.....  :banghead:) So here is a last look, before the flight deck will be added to the hull:

Flight deck is now added, there is no way back:

At least a bit can be seen through the elevator openings:

Finally, it now begins to look like an aircraft carrier:

Flight deck and reworked superstructure have been added. Several walkways besides the flight deck are added as well.
Besides the AA missiles, only very few light AA guns are still on board of the Graf Zeppelin.

On the superstructure, I had to add more missile directors:

I will now add all the small details, but I think the end of this project is not too far away (took long enough).

A friend of mine told me that I made two errors regarding the armament of the Graf Zeppelin:

1) the Terrier launchers are mounted wrong way, the short "arm" must be at the front
2) The SPG-55 are mounted backwards as well. I guess I was misleaded by some photos I saw.

So here is the corrected version:

I also added some decals to the flight deck, look quite finished now. The reflections are from the glossy varnish I put over the decals, this will be changed with the final varnish.
