- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Nice!

I really need to get moving on my ship builds before I can't see well enough to do them.

My spare part box of ship model parts is more than full, so the next model will be some kind of reuse of leftover parts. Plus a bit 3D printed where required. But most things will be "classic" scratch building.

The idea is: A Dutch coast defense ship designed in the mid 1930s. Potential use would be Dutch-East-Asia.
At that time, the Netherlands planned several new ships up to the size of a battle cruiser where they had assistance by German shipyard. So the coast defense ship will also show sings of German naval design.

Those are the parts from the spare part box which I want to use:

The hull, which is a much shortened Admiral Graf Spee

Some ideas for the deck - one 11" (28cm) triple gun turret and a command tower inspired by the Graf Spee. The last two parts will be 3D printed.

Size comparison with the Panzerschiff Deutschland/ Heavy Cruisers Lützow

Some test prints for the superstructure. Quick & dirty printed with the FDM printer, the real ones will be with the resin printer.

I am authorised by the supreme maritime soviet to inform you that your great labours have been rewarded with an extra portion of borscht in the yard canteen, and a certificate of appreciation signed by every member of the DDR ladies shot-putt team.

That's interesting, and I can see that being of use in the Dutch East Indies, a Colonial Monitor

That's looking good.
I get an HMS Hood vibe from her.

The Dutch Monitor looks interesting.

After a lot of putty and sanding, the camo paint could be added to the hull. Light was not too good, but its a three color camo: green, light grey and dark gray. Inspired by the De Ruyter camo.

A bit remodeling for the superstructure. Still those are quick&dirty FDM prints which cannot print all the details. Its a scaled down (but not much) version of the Graf Spee command tower.
One 11" triple gun turret will be in front while some 4,1" AA guns will be on the stern.

More work on the hull, the deck is now also installed. This time the four colors of the camo are better visible.

A new version of the 3D printed superstructure parts. Again, only quick test-prints with the FDM printer. The Funnel is the original one, the aft. superstructure is also printed.

But I think its now time to shift to the resin-printer.

I now printed the superstructure parts with the resin printer. Much more details then those test prints

The small backward superstructure has been completed with its AA director and the platform for a heavy AA/secondary gun:
