And finally, the SMS Emden is completed. Ok, it's no "what-if" model, but in the end, it good better than I first thought when I started with it:

The commander and his officers

Parts of the crew is lined up

And adding all those rigging and crew was a real pain to do, glad that this is over now and I only had to redo minor parts of it.

That is really nice   Adding the crew is definitely worthwhile for the finished look of the model

Nice work ! Such a lovely hull shape to that boat.....love the look of it. All that time you put into the crew and rigging was definately worthwhile for the overall look of realism...great stuff !

What a re the figures from ?

The figures are PE parts from Eduard. You get several different sets in 1/350 or 1/700 scale. Those figures are already painted and a set contains >100 of them, the price is something about 8-10€.

The last ship to leave NöNö Bärs shipyard for this year: The USS DDG 51 Arlight Burke. A 1/700 Revell kit. It has the highest number of little crew members I have put on a ship so far.

The little "modern US warships" fleet:

Awesome ! It would be nice to see a few more pics to see all the wee men you have added. Looks like they're all at the back waiting for the next chopper

The fleet is looking good ! Wouldn't want to mess with that bunch eh ?

To start the year with something small: Another German Schnellboot from Heller's Kriegsmarine box.

As the box has 12 of those tiny boats in it, this time I made a modified version. A special operations Schnellboot, used to land special forces at enemy coastlines. Therefore, the torpedo armament was removed and two small motor boats for the landing team are added. also a small mast with a small Funkmessgerät (Radar)

The boat - S-241 - was stationed in St Peter Port, Guernsey in February 1943.

All of the S-boats made so far:

Great job ! I like the idea of having the small boats on....change the look and the mision!

Seeing them all together tho, I definately like the look of them without the masts, way sleeker.

The ship section has been quiet for a while, so here is the latest release of NöNö Bärs shipyard.

Not really a what-if, but at least different looking than other ships, the USS Independence.
It's a 1/700 scale dragon model, build OOB, I just added a new stand and some of the tiny navy personal.

No What-If ship this time, but after a couple of USN ships Britannia starts to rule the waves...

Starting with the HMS Amazon, an Airfix 1/600 scale model. I quite unusual scale, so I will mostly stay with Airfix ships for the upcoming set of Royal Navy ships.

Build OOB with some few additional PE Parts and the usual crew members.
