Nice build of the Airfix Amazon although technically it is a Whif as its based on the manufacturers model rather than the actual ship. The biggest give away is the oversized pennant numbers, but you can see some differences in the details when compared with the ships as built.  ;)

This is another what-if: Those are all dwarfs as they are 1:700 scale and not 1:600 like the ship model....  ;D

The Royal Navy has an addition to its (still) little fleet: The HMS Fearless.

Another 1/600 Airfix model, this time one I had build as a kit in the mid 70s. At that time, models were not painted and sooner or later they were blown up with some fireworks.

But not today anymore. It took quite a while to build it as the production quality of the kit was not that good. Many parts were covered by "clutter" and hardly to recognize at all. QA seems not to be bit at Airfix these times (don't kit how old the kit was, but it was not in the old 70s box anymore).

Build OOB with some few additional PE Parts and the usual crew members.

A previous girl friend's brother was a flight deck mechanic on the Fearless. I think that's him with his arms up just aft of the Wessex on the 5 spot.  ;D

That's a great job Nonobar, when you add the little people on your ship models it makes SO much difference, well done.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

The crew make a huge difference!  From where do you source them?

Amended a moment later... I've looked back on this thread..... Edouard figures.... anyone know a UK source near  Herefordshire?

That looks awesome ! Love the sand and spinach choppers. The dudes definately add to the realism of such a small scale ship. Very nice indeed !

That looks very tidy. Always loved Fearless and Intrepid. Either the current or previous issue of the Airfix mag had an article in it about a 1/700 Fearless build.

The next addition to the Royal Navy Fleet: HMS Devonshire

Another 1/600 Airfix model, but this will definitely not go as my best.

Build OOB with some few additional PE Parts and the usual crew members.

The complete RN fleet so far:
