You and me both, they look terrific, even more so in that tiny scale. 

Maybe they all had 'chutes as standard, or had ropes attached?

Well, of course, personal on the flight deck is only allowed at slow speeds. I will write something about operations of the Manfred von Richthoven when it is done.

However, countless brave crew members got lot when they were added on board, even the tweezers could not save them.....

Having seen some of these tiny figures on ship models I can fully understand that. They really do add something special to a model

Absolutely gorgeous.

I particularly like that the lateral engines are positioned so as a well aimed prisoner can be flung into one from the flight deck.
Should one be of a suitably dastardly frame of mind of course...

A 'Serenity' reference - excellent!... now, while I applaud the general concept of disposal of irritating prisoners, you may want to bear in mind the whole 'FOD' thing... which Mal neglected to do, but it made for good TV.

I was looking at the AMT USS Akron/Macon 1/520 kit on the interweb the other day.  At 18" long it's about the right size for what I have in mind.

I was looking at the AMT USS Akron/Macon 1/520 kit on the interweb the other day.  At 18" long it's about the right size for what I have in mind.

There is, or was, the FROG R-100 airship kit for the UK entrant, and it's about 17.5" long.

Amazingly I actually have two of them, it was my fave airship but sadly unappreciated in its time. The kit's in 1/500 scale and comes complete with a good model of its mast at Cardington where it was based, and has been re-released by Maquette and others.

Sadly it's not that accurate model of the R-100 itself, but that's just the airship JMN-ness in me coming out.
