I like the idea of HMS Floor.

Could it have fallen victim to a combined operation by USS Pussy Cat and HMAS Gravity?

;D ;D

Hope it's all repairable.

nönöbär

Well, I could fix it - again. Lets see how long it will last this time.

There is no USS Pussy Cat around, only my engineer and his friends. But I doubt that they did it when we were away. More curious, i found a win of an aircraft that I am currently building behind my desk as well, and it was definitely not there before I left. Spooky....

My current best guess is - we had some craftsman in our apartment doing some work in the bathroom while we were away. But hey, they should not play with my unfinished scale models!

Heavy hammering or vibration causing works on walls (banging in nails, drilling, cutting for example) by tradesmen/women can have unintended consequences for fragile objects on shelves elsewhere on the wall or on connected walls or even on the other side of walls.  Don't ask me how I know this.

Some models do appear to be jinxed - don't ask me how I know this  :-\

Did you enjoy Singapore though ?

Ok, I have fixed everything - again. And this week nobody came in there and damaged my little Roon again. I guess I know why, my engineer asked one of his friends to guard the shipyard, so nobody had a chance to sabotage the model again.

So now, I am fighting with the antennas, I will using thin fishing rope this time.

@NARSES2: Singapore was nice, but too warm for me. But if my boss sends me there, I should not complain, there are worse places to go :)

I found the humidity way to high for me. I got into the habit of carrying a spare T Shirt around with me so I had a change of dry clothes. But as you say there are far worse places  ;)

I'm glad to see she's got to the rigging stage

The good thing was that my customer and my hotel were just on the opposite side of the road. So I could return to the hotel during lunch break and cool own in the pool :) Hmm, maybe we should introduce this in our office as well :)

After the Roon, a quick 3D build, mainly to test a few things with the 3D printer.

This is a Kriegsmarine Marinefährprahm MFP in scale 1/700. Printed with a Anycubic Photon SLA printer, I added some few PE parts.
Print was 4 parts, the MFP and the three guns. The original model was in 1/300, but I scaled it down to fit my other ship models.

More about Kriegsmarine MFP can be found on my German navy website: http://www.german-navy.de/kriegsmarine/ships/landingcrafts/mfp/index.html

The following 3D-Model was used:

Thank you my friend.
I have seen references to F-Lighters in various books about Gun & Torpedo boat operations in the Mediterranean during WW2 but hadn't known what they were (and had forgotten to look them up) until now.

Oh, and great little build.

In preparation of something new, I want to test a few things first, so here we go with the test project: Bundesmarine Zerstörer Z1936 NATO, 1975.

The idea is to have an upgraded WW2 Z1936 destroyer with "modern" weapons and Sensors in the mid 1970s. So a bit like the FRAM upgraded for US destroyers. And as i have a lot of those German WW2 destroyers parts left, lets try it.

What will be done -  reduced number of guns, removal of torpedoes, addition of missiles and modern sensors.

So starting with this here:

the current state is now

So we have:
Two 5"/54 MK 42 guns
One CIWS ahead of the bridge
SPQ-9 Radar on the bridge
Fwd Torpedo tube replaced with Harpoon launchers
Bwd Torpedo tube replaced with MK16 ASROC launcher
MK13 SAM launcher

Masts and sensors will be 3D printed, I am currently experimenting with that.

And my engineer now has found Twitter - so he will post daily updates of his work there at https://twitter.com/Scratchbr1
