Speaking as the modeller concerned, re the main u/c of theArrow 4*', of course I hadn't much to go on, as the article says, but as I understand it a structure in the pylon would be attached direct to a chordwise spar, the same one that took the load of the u/c in the Arrow 1. But this is all based on about 5 lines of text in Whitcomb's books! Glad the build has gone down well, anyway: it was very enjoyable and I was amazed at how much space Gary H gave me.

That's a great idea , let's call it Susan , it'll really upset the JMN's.

Concur!!  I  know someone will shout at me for introducing philosophy, but to slightly misquote Ralph Waldo Emmerson  "Foolish consistency and accuracy are the hobgoblins of tiny uncultured minds"   Accuracy and reality are mutable, especially in a whiffworld peopled by individuals of intelligence, courtesy and discernment.

By the way, can anyone suggest a reliable supplier of unobtainium alloy  mainspars for a possible long range reconnaisance aircraft?  High Duty  Alloys say that their usual stockist at Erehwon  Metals is temporarily out of stock.

Scooter seems to mention this material a lot, maybe he can supply from USAAF USAF stocks ?

Ooooops showed my age there  :banghead:

unobtainium alloy  mainspars.
not certain but the acme divison of Spackman industrys may be able to point you in the right direction.  They were the main UK supplyers / users.   Working with them in the past was always a plesure in my experiance

We may have some ingots, freshly cast by dwarves at Mt. Doom. All you need to process it is the world's largest forge, or copious amounts of explosives.

Those dwarves and elves are the same ones who make those really good cookies, BTW.

You may want to substitute gadolinium if unobtanium is unobtained. Gadolinium extrudes are made daily here in Mordor.

I  suspect that I could possibly be contacting  the local rep for Mt Doom Industrials  in the near future.  Is their Shire counties rep  still that Baggins chap?  I am also making arrangements for a colleague with a heavyduty pile driver to help with the forging.  If you have any inordinately huge piles you'd like driven, do let me know.  His surgical skills if also include spot welding  if you know of any acne sufferers.
