Right, here's the place for all your Rotodyne and Convertiplane builds. The Theme will cover any type of convertiplane especially Gyrodynes bult also includes tilt rotors, tilt jets, tilt wings, tail sitters, coleocopteres and anything elsethat fits the description of a convertiplane.

There's no time limit so the build is open ended, any questions on subject matter etc then get in touch with Mossie

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

As long as you want Lance, Chris has given it an open ended time scale.  To be honest, I expect interest to peeter out after a few months so if you want to be in with the crowd, I'd get onto it sooner rather than later.  There's no harm in being resurrected further down the line though.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Dammit Jim, there was an Airfix Rotodyne in the CWHM tent at the airshow two weeks back.....but i bought the 425 Squadron book instead ! I knew there was a reason I wanted the Rotodyne kit !*

* other than the fact that Rotodynes are cool and I've always wanted to build one

It includes tilt wings and tilt engines as well as Rotodynes and Convertiplanes so plenty of Canadian potential using a Canadair Tilt Wing technology or your various Ospreys currently in build.

And if you really yearn to build a Rotodyne, you should easily be able to find the Revell kit somewhere on t'web.  Slightly odd scale at 1/78, but much better detailed than the Airfix kit, you even get passengers!

Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

And a loader, who's carrying a crate on his shoulder, this probably dates it as H&S rules probably wouldn't allow him to lift it like that!

I've just put some links to some more YouTube videos on the Rotodyne thread.  They a History Channel documentary on the Rotodyne and some from Farborough Air Show newsreels.
