Yesterday at Hobbyrama, (Stafford) I saw the latest Airfix model set. A 1/1200sc set of the main players in the sinking of Bismark. I know model companies exchange models from company to company but the only 1/1200sc models I ever remember of Tribal Class RN Destroyers and HMS  three funneled cruisers and Ark Royal were by EAGLE in the 1950's.....if that is the case, I'll buy the set...just for the Eagle models. Any clues......POIROT would know!

I can only remember the Eagle models myself. Had them all

1/1200th is a wargaming scale and there are loads of metal/resin models out there. Might even be some injected stuff I suppose ?

Didn't Airfix do some 1:1200 scale ships back in the early 1980s?  I seem to remember Tribal Class DDs and an Illustrious CV.

Do the models come with a CD of Johnny Horton's "Sink the Bismarck" song, too???

That's how you spell it, isn't it ? Or are you trying to imply I've never grown up ??

I personally never intend to "grow up".  Indeed, the very idea fills me with abhorrence!

Yeap excepts its Ark Royal rather than Illustrious CV, the Sink the Bismark set is their 70s 1/1200 scale ship range they did in one box, containing the Bismark, Prinz Eugen for the Germans, with Hood, Suffolk, Ark Royal and a pair of Tribals for the Brits. Ideally you need a pair of the Revell reissued KGV kits for KGV & PoW plus additional kits of the Suffolk to represent the other counties. Other resin ships could be used to fill the gaps not done in plastic such as the Rodney, the town class cruisers etc
