My fourth and final Komet of the year...

Due to the unusually poor weather for this time of year I have been delayed in getting these pics of this Komet that was finished over a week ago.
This is the VERY old HAWK 1/48 scale Me 163B kit that was reboxed by Testors a while back, the entire model was built O.O.B. including using the kits decals which were really not bad.

Wonderful, just wonderful. 

But how do you do the 'flying' piccies? Is there a wire or support that's photo-shopped out afterwards, or...........?

My guess to the takeoff and flying pics is a rod right up the old rocket exhaust. The smoke and somewhat limited fire in the finished version looks right compared to videos of the real thing in action. The whole series as always looks superbly realistic.

Challenge question though - Not every day on a Flughafen was sunny and bright. Might be interesting to see a Komet or other machine taking off into a driving rain or heavy snow! Getting rain to look right in scale using any edit tool is a B----. Snow has its own challenges, especially in the slipstream.

Takeoff picture is simply stunning and the colour picture after the two b/w ones is just amazing. It could so easily go in a book as a "newly discovered Luftwaffe colour photos"

The flying pics were done by suspending the model with invisable thread, by doing it this way there is very little left to photoshop out.
