I need a "cat" name for my fixed wing F-14 (based on F-15).
In my opinion, British, Canadian, or USAF markings make things look so much better...

Cateagle.  you can give it a black body and star paint scheme and have a Regillian cateagle ( with apologys to EE "doc" Smith and any Lensman fans)
the things you learn, give your mind the wings to fly, and the chains to hold yourself steady
take off and nuke the site form orbit, nope, time for the real thing, CAM and gridfire, call special circumstances.
wow, its like freefalling into the Geofront

Surely to be a truly Grumman 'Cat' name it has to end in 'cat'?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

I agree
Alle kunst ist umsunst wenn ein engel auf das zundloch brunzt!!

Sic biscuitus disintegratum!

Cats are not real.
They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Although, throughout the 50s they rarely did.  Panther, Cougar, Jaguar, and Tiger.

The RAF could operate it as the Boss Cat.

I think that "Bobcat" is the best you've got there, but some other good ones may be:

Polecat: it sounds cool, but generally means "skunk" in the US.
Saber Cat: very fearsome, prehistoric cat; the USAF operated the Sabre and Grumman's traditionally done Navy planes, again a good combo.
Griffin: my personal favorite.  Mythical half-eagle, half-lion.  McDD does mystical creature names, Grumman does cats.  This seems like the perfect compromise.

Cheers,

Logan

A Polecat would surely have to come out of the Skunk Works.
