Cateagle.  you can give it a black body and star paint scheme and have a Regillian cateagle ( with apologys to EE "doc" Smith and any Lensman fans)

Just started re-reading the Skylark series and then back onto the Lensman series for some light rreading as I go through my "History of MI6"

Given the US Military's re-use of names then Wildcat II or Hellcat II would seem appropriate

A variety of "mountain lion".
My mind is like a compost heap: both "fertile" and "rotten"!

"Hellcat II" is my personal fav so far, followed by "Tomcat II"

Hellcat: (The first part of the word deals with MDD type things (Phantom, Demon), followed by "Cat"

"Mudcat" could be the USMC version...

"Blackcat" or "Peeping Tom(cat)" for recce...
In my opinion, British, Canadian, or USAF markings make things look so much better...

Spey_Phantom

i was thinking "Tigercat II" or "Thundercat" doenst sound bad either
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

Neat.  I still like "Griffon", but that's just me.

Surely to be a truly Grumman 'Cat' name it has to end in 'cat'?

I see no one's mentioned this one yet, but how about Meerkat???
If you love, love without reservation; If you fight, fight without fear - THAT is the way of the warrior

If you go into battle knowing you will die, then you will live. If you go into battle hoping to live, then you will die

Hehehe, I LOVE that!  :drink:

And so will Radish......
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Presumably taking the example of the Tigertcat you can just take any kind of feline and add cat on the end.

IE: Leopardcat

turns out there is an actual Leopardcat who knew

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopard_Cat

There's also a Sand cat and a Jungle Cat

otherwise there's Tabbycat

So you could go with Cougarcat or Pumacat or Lynxcat

or Cheetah I don't think anyone's used Cheetah for a milatary aircraft

Isn't that the S African Mirage  ?

Final diecision...

Alleycat!!  (unnoficially called "Tomcat II" by pilots.)

"Puma" will be the Eurofighter conversion at a later date.
Thanks for all the ideas.  I will try to build all the other cats suggested by you guys.
