thanks again Guys.  Yes i guess the best thing is to find a color that fits in my eyes and use it its all very much a personal decision anyway without an original paint sample and a calibrated colorimeter.

The XF-19 is close, how close is debatable but it should be close enough so that the JNM's would need all that equipment to tell the difference

thanks gondor, yup xf-19 should do the trick. iI had an old US navy phantom crewdog in my cubicle today who was telling me all about his days working on F-4's.
