I may have to ask for a little tolerance on their part on the Friday to allow my 'fighter escort' to attend with me.......  :-\

Will she count as "carer" ,  "handler", "agent"  or "convoy close escort"?

Got my magazine a couple of weeks ago (if we are talking issue 04) and there was the why/wherefore about the wristband but no details on when/where to get it.

Cheers Martin

Quite a bit of confusion in my mind about that as well Chris.
It looks as if you can get in on Friday without a wrist band for setting up.
You register at the IPMS desk and get your "bag of goodies which includes your wristband".
Can you register on the Friday? It does not say.
On Saturday and Sunday it would appear that you will not get in for free if you do not have the wristband, BUT you can not register and get your wristband until you are inside. At least thats the way I read it.

I see they've significantly improved the entry route. If only the TIC staff were to match that with a better arrangement to pay for parking...

Magazine 05.

You can get in on Friday to set up AND collect your wristband then....all you need is your card.

BUT your card won't get you in through the roller doors on Saturday or Sunday mornings..

does anyone know if SMW this year is having 'the give an old model a new home' section this year as they have had in previous years? i see no mention of it on the official IPMS website or in the latest copy of the magazine.

kitbasher will remember this one well as he picked up a norseman a/c model i'd lost interest in and made it something rather better a year or two back.

Perhaps we could do something similar amongst ourselves?

Wristbands available in Hall 1 on the IPMS Desk on Friday, Saturday/Sunday and at the rear entrances on Hall 1,2 and 3 on Sat/Sunday if you're entering before the show on those days.
Lose your wristband and it's a tenner for a new one and entry....having said that, they're very resiliant.
Except possibly, for the corrosive nerve gas Chris is known to emit.

Are we going to the same Chinese restaurant as previous years or somewhere different for a change?

The Wooksta!

I know I'll be at the fabulous curry house I've been to on previous years.  Really looking forward to it - the Naans are the size of bin lids!

I believe that is the current plan. unless anyone comes up with a better idea, within walking distance of both the park inn and the TIC ;D
