Worf is the second wargame figure that I have done and still trying to get the ideas down on how to paint these things.

He came with the Last Unicorns Games figure set Federation Away Team Miniatures from STTNG (Star Trek The Next Generation for those few of you not in the know) and is 33mm high (30mm at the eye level).  There are 6 other figures in the box, 4 ladies and 2 guys from different races.  I actually tried to sell the box set several times with no takers but Worf just kept staring at me with that "Do it for the Honor" look and I finally buckled and said what the hey.

The box cover shows Worf in the gold shirt he commonly wore on TNG but the molding looked more like something from Deep Space 9 or the movies so that is how I painted him.  He came out OK but I still think he needs a different base (any suggestions).

He did win a Bronze at yesterdays SLC - XII but then again, there were only 3 entries in the class.

Nice work on Worf! If you're looking for some good guides on figure painting, I'd suggest this guy as a decent place to start:  http://hot-lead.org/  He also has videos for sale, but the guides he has on the site will probably be more than enough to get you moving.

I've been gluing a lot of my guys to washers lately, like these: http://www.amazon.com/Crown-Bolt-20090-Zinc-Plated-100-Count/dp/B004XMX5YO/ref=pd_ys_sf_s_228013_b2_2_p

You get a nice thin base so you can add to it with putty if you want to make something sculpted or fancy, or at the very least, you get something sturdy, but not too tall (unlike most slottabases) to provide a nice stable platform for a mini.  Plus, at roughly 100 for $10, they're cheap too!

Nice work. Great effort on a small scale figure.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

I like to see figures, nice work on Worf.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Thanks guys and thanks for the link Proditor.  Will be checking it out in detail when I have more time.

We have a local guy who sculpts his own wargame scale figures (got a card someplace with his web info) and I picked up a few from him at the show.  Couple of armed wolves and a couple of ladies with guns.  Also have a Steampunk Dorothy which I got last year online.  Probably need to invest in some better paints for these.  Also have a few ladies from Denizens in 90mm and a couple large scale figures.  Guess I need to pick one to practice on (maybe one of those old 35th scale figures and 72nd scale figures in the parts box).

Course, lots of other models that are already started and plenty more that aren't.
