I just finished this:

And it got me to thinking. Since they took the P51 and created the F82 "Twin Mustang". what if they took 2 B29s and created a twin fuselage 5 engined behemoth?

With 2 of Monograms 1/48th scale kits...........

This is what I had in mind ;D

That's going to be a massive build, I hope you've got enough room to build it :banghead:

Your photo of your completed B-29 looks great. I say go for it! I suggest a longer wing between the fuselages and drop the outside horizontal stabs. Just my $0.02.

With 5 engines it looks a bit underpowered, you also need more wing area else it'll have less payload than the original.

6 engine's and no outer tail planes.  ;D

Also I would straighten out the wing leading edge and trailing edge between the fusealges, like you've done the tail plane.  One thing that all 'Twin-fill-in-the-blank' is the center section has parallel leading and trailing edges and even a wider chord length to make up for the lost wing area like Harro says.

I agree with Steve ref 6 engines, but I would keep the outer tail planes.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Better?

Yes much better, but I would still like  a small portion of tailplanr outside the two fuselages, just for asthetics.

In 1/48? Massive is the word!  :o Hope you have LOT of space.
A little bit of outer tailplanes à la P-38 would be nice.
A question I always have concerning "zwilling". Two cockpits or only one??

Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

A couple of auxiliarly jet engine pods like the B-50 /(Lockheed Neptune) would provide the power.
