Just a heads up to remind members if they have any wants or disposals or trades that can be arranged for the crew gathering at SMW.

Unless you are using the official Kitswap service then only prearranged items may be exchanged/sold on club/SIG stands. No under or over table sales are allowed unless your an official trader.!

I like to remind people to think about specific wants they are looking out for at SMW, not so much the new items or readily available items as those can generally be found but rather the out of production items that may or may not be found from the 2nd hand traders at the show.
If you ask in advance then other members may have the items in question in their stash and they might be willing to part with them and make a reasonable deal, either that or the stash ferrets like Wooksta, Martin H, etc may spot them whilst looking for suitable bargins or items of interest and bring them to your attention. Remember some products that were common as muck a few years ago may now be rare as hens teeth when you actually want  one (look at the going rate for 1/72 Victors and the Airfix Harrier T10's on eBay now !).

I know from past shows that some members when reviewing the show and their purchases have expressed disappointment that they were unable to find kit x or decal sheet y and other have then said either 'they saw one Saturday morning' and its long since been sold OR 'i have one in the stash you could have had if you had asked before the show!'.

Obviously some kits/items will be wanted as a result of inspiration being triggered at the show by either, new kits/books or by discussing ideas with the rest of the crew as much can come about from brain storming sessions or suggestions for suitable base kits. However if there is something your after in particular then please ask now, to avoid either disappointment or frustration later at the show.

Cheers

My current sales list can be found here:

My current wants:
CMR Seafire FR47 (original 96 release in grey/green resin) They buggered the wing - wrong bulges) and wrong canopy.
Cheap CMR Spitfires (ie £20 or less - have you seen the current Hannants prices?!!!!!!!!)
Airkit Spitfire F21/F22 - actually, any of the Airkit Spitfires and Seafires, either complete kits or the conversion bits he did.
Skybirds 86 DH Hornets - any
Ventura - Any of their Spitfires/Seafires, but especially the Seafire FR47.
Heritage (formerly Aardvark) Supermarine 224
Pegasus Supermarine Spiteful
Pegasus Seafire FR47 (rough but workable. Same flaws as the CMR '96 tool)
Frog/Novo Attackers (or the myriad other boxings but must be under a fiver as they're not worth paying more than that.)
Xtrakit Spitfire Mk XII
Fujimi Spitfires
Any Aeroclub Spitfire/Seafire conversions and/or accessories.

Same as last year, really.  Basically, any cheap but decent Spitfire kits or conversions.  Anything Plan related.  But I'd also like people to keep an eye out for these:
Airfix German Reconaisance set (x2)
Airfix Opel Blitz & PaK 40

However, I'm after very specific boxings for nostalgia reasons.  They must be the late 70s/early 1980s ones with the artwork tops and the oval Airfix logo.

Jim, I've the wreck of a Hasegawa T33 somewhere in the loft at me Mam's but I'd hacked the nose off to fit a resin recce one that didn't fit.  If I can find it, it's yours if you want it.

However, the Hasegawa kit is horrible - it fought me every step of the way - and I'd advise trying to find a Heller one.

All I need from the Hasegawa T-33 is the canopy, possibly cockpit bits, and all the U/C bits. This all to go with one of Martin's Boeing Skyfox's.

an offer of £15 will secure it, and delivery to you at SMW.

however, i could be persuaded to trade it for things like C-Scale conversion kits and anything handley page.

The Hasegawa kit is from the late 60s and all you got in the cockpit were some pretty poor seats.  IIRC, the u/c was bust with the wreck but the canopy may still be there.
