Blog Entry #312

its been over a month since my last entry, as has been the time since i last hit the bench.
ive been stuck at home on doctors orders for the past 2 days now due to overstressing problems, so im gonna use the time to relax and do some modelbuilding.

at this time, i have more project on the go then i can handle, both in 1/144 and 1/72, so im gonna finish those before starting anything else, as i really want to start on new things very soon. im even thinkign of cnceling some builds that are just been sitting there gathering dust for too long. ive also decided to cancel my 1 week group build entry due to lack of time (1/72 SIAI SF260TP in Bundes Luftwaffe colors)
the bench at this moment is a complete mess, im gonna have to clear it out first.

Sometimes it does you good to put aside everything you have already started, clear your mind of all that has gone before and build something different and simple.

Blog Entry #313

2 months have passes since my last entry, so time for an overdue update.
not much has happened, the bench has come to a standstill when the vacation days started.

looking at the bench, i have too much going on, so im gonna put a few projects on hold or cancel them.
in terms of WHIF projects, im going to put the 1/144 Americabomber and 1/72 Shnellbomber-TL on hold until the bench clears up. in RW builds, im gonna cancel 1 of the 3 1/144 sepecat Jaguars i have going on (the Indian version), and put the other 2 on hold (RAF and French).

so that means on the go at the moment are:

-1/72 F-16AM Tigermeet'09 (realworld, which is turning into a neverending story)
-2x 1/144 T-38D Super Talon (WHIF, F-20 conversion)
-1/144 Hurricane Mk.IIc (realworld)
-1/144 P-38J Lightning (realworld)

the hurricane and the lightning are recently started projects, just to get me jumpstarted.

my inspiration is also coming back, and i have a number of new project idea's im working on, some new, some revamped old ones. in 1/144 WHIF im thinking of a Dutch C-130J-30 and C-17A Globemaster III. the herc might become a realworld project in a few years from now, who knows. other projects im looking at are more simpler, such as a French Aeronavale F-14A(FR) Tomcat (basicly using decals and weapons from a revell rafale kit in the F-14A), Embraer E190-MPA/ISR.....

im also looking at building more WHIF WW2 aircraft as soon as the bench clears. and finally, im looking into completing the Area 88 air base project.

more soon.....

Blog Entry #314

its been another month since the last update, so time for another one.
the bench has been slow paced lately, a little progress made on a 1/144 Hurricane Mk.IIc and P-38 (both realworld).
ive also been dusting off some older WIP builds and im looking to put a few in long term hold to make room for quicker builds.

the 1/144 Junkers Amerikabomber project will be put on hold until i get out a creative block since its kinda seems to be missing a few things. the 1/72 Schnellbomber-TL project will also be put on hold. im gonna try  to finish the smaller 1/144 builds first, as these seem to take up most of the space on the bench. as soon as the space comes clear, i have 2 1/72 NH90-NFH's (commision builds) that are long overdue to start and a 1/144 Airbus A400M in BAF markings, all realworld.

of course im gonna be building a few WHIF's too

for starters, im looking into a few airliner conversions of MPA aircraft and bombers in 1/72 scale, but also a number of 1/144 WHIF's, including a series of more WW2 builds from various nations.

second, i have just had a slight tool upgrade this week, with the arrival of a UV nail drying station, this is part of a project to create UV resin parts, i just need to learn to make moulds.

and also, i have a small announcement.  ;D

as of last week, i have started a new side hobby. with too little time to physicly build anymore, and with so many kits in the stash, i have now found a new modeling related hobby that can be helpfull to other modelbuilders.
i have started making inbox reviews on my old, previously unused, youtube channel.

my first inbox review was more of a test, reviewing a Revell 1/144 F4U-1 Corsair (something simple to start with).

link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD_zpHJUjq0

so far, the reception over on KG144 has been positive, and im currently working on the next number of kit reviews.
next one will be on the AFV Club 1/144 Sea Kings.

Blog Entry #315

its been 2.5 months since the last entry, mostly because modelmaking time has been cut back due to family priorities.
but ive been stuck at home for a few days with a stomachbug, and i needed to keep myself busy.

so, i started with finishing a  few builds that are currently on the go. yesterday, the first one, a 1/144 P-38L Lightning in Yugoslav Air Force colors (realworld) is now finished, and im now doing the final touches on a realworld 1/144 Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc (converted Revell Mk.1). right now, i still have so many projects on the go that i cant start anymore new ones until at least 80% of those are finished.

this morning, im gonna do some more decal designing for a couple of future and current projects, should be able to print those out later. this afternoon, im gonna clear and clean up the workbench so i can see my tools again. but right now, im lacking storage space for tools and paints, so i will have to find a solution for that too.

also, ive been doing some prepwork on another inbox review video, this time on the Revell 1/144 CH-47D Chinook (which is making a repop next year).

more soon...

Blog Entry #316

its been 2 months since the last update, and its been a real quiet 2 months. i have had little time to get anything done, with familly, the holidays, a long-standing personal issue (we will get to that someday when im ready), my sons baptism & second birthday took priority over everything else.

but, after removing the thick layer of dust off the bench, i finally got back into it.
there are no WHIF projects ongoing at the moment, but thats gonna change soon.

on the go at this moment is a 1/144 Piper Enforcer (prototype, converted from a Mini Hobby Models P-51D Mustang), a second WHIF version is also in the pipeline.

also, i have been doing prepwork on something big  :o

im also clearing some space for the local EMS-helicopter Charitybuild. at the moment there are 4 Revell 1/72 EC135's ready to go, hoping to get a 5th one soon. our local EMS helicopter (a Eurocopter AS355F1) was retired right before christmas, the helicopter's contract has expired and the aircraft was at the end of its lifespan. a new contract has been made with the French firm SAF to rent an EMS configured Eurocopter EC135 (serial is F-GMTU).

to help raise money to help pay for the helicopters annual costs (this is not a state-funded helicopter, it runs on charity and crowdfunding), im gonna do my part with this charitybuild. of the 5 (when) completed EC135 models, one will be donated to the charity organisation, one i will keep for myself and the other 3 i will auction off, with the money raised being donated to help keep the EMS helicopter in the air. more details on that soon.

im also been doing research on other future WHIF projects too, for intance, im digging up my old "P-3 orion to Junior electra" conversion noted, to convert a 1/72 Breguet Atlantic into a civilian airliner.

more soon....
