This regards firstly, two bombsight designs including the Norden, a gyroscopic bombsight by Sperry using the synchronous method (to determine groundspeed).  What was the basic difference in which they operated (especially when the synchronous method was incorporated into the Norden)?

Assuming it's not classified...
That being said, I'd like to remind everybody in a manner reminiscent of the SNL bit on Julian Assange, that no matter how I die: It was murder (even if there was a suicide note or a video of me peacefully dying in my sleep); should I be framed for a criminal offense or disappear, you know to blame.

Here are a couple of websites with Sperry and Norton bombsight information.

There are a number of other ones as well.

Thank you... I never knew the Sperry was better than the Norden...

Norden had better PR. ;D

That has been true in so many other spheres as well.

Interesting info on a subject I didn't know much about in those links - thank you

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Random off-the-wall thought. (Have I any other kind?)
Maybe the Norden was babbled about and the words "Top Secret" used so much so the enemy would concentrate on capturing and dublicating the Norden and not the "Easier to train for and use" Sperry?
They were pretty sneaky back then and why not put a gold painted cow dropping out there on display advertised as a "Solid Gold Meteor with Magical Properties" so the thieves walk right by the piles of diamonds painted like coal?
"Just which planet are you from again"?

Sperry Gyroscope -- they were a multinational company and had sold products to many countries including Japan (this allegedly had the USN Fuming).  Did they ever trade a bomb-sight to any other country than the UK?
