This a thread to confirm who will be attending the show, on which days, which SIG or Branch they will be based at and importantly what they are bringing (nothing specific, just how many models of what size and for which display).

This is too allow SIG leaders to know who to expect and what space will be required on the table and on which days as it can get tricky with some setting up on the Friday for the weekend, those IPMS members who arrive before 10am and those SIG(s) members who can only enter as part of the general public.

Remember there are some senior citizen members, who will need to be able to sit down when they need a rest and will need a clear access to the table so please bare this in mind when leaving carrying boxes, coats, food and drink and of course new stash acquisitions behind the stands.

Please use the other thread for general discussions and questions http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,35837.msg576518.html#new so this thread can be used by the SIG leaders to organise their repective tables. Thank you

(Please note ONLY IPMS members will be allowed into the main halls before 10am, being a SIG member does not allow you access to the halls whether you are displaying or not, as the regulations do not allow for it. So please don't think you can blag your way in or expect family & friends who accompany you to be granted access under your IPMS membership unless you have family membership, as its not going to happen)

Project Cancelled SIG

Ok i'll get the ball rolling, i will be on the Project Cancelled SIG as per usual where our display for 2012 is based on inspiration, so thats going to be project builds and the books and resources that provided the inspiration to us to build the models. We hope to have some of the authors behind some of those books join us at the stand at some stage during the show.

Those interested in joining the SIG or wishing to take part in the display then please PM either TsrJoe or myself about joining

!!! Please note whilst the Project Cancelled SIG is located next to What-If SIG, they are seperate stands with seperate displays, as such it will not used for an overspill area for models, people or stash if the What-if area becomes overcrowded as you may be asked to move if not a contributing member of the Project Cancelled SIG. Sorry to bring it up but it prevents any misunderstandings on the day.

What-if SIG

I have a couple of small aircraft for the SIG stand, i let others do the big models these days

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

That'll be me then?  ;D

Assuming I get out of this ruddy hospital in a cured state I'll be there from Fri-Mon morning with at least two 1/72 vintage Whiff SIG models and maybe another two of my builds from this year. I'll have a few others for SIG Italia and the CPAC stands too but I won't be able to carry too many this year due to my state of health.

I'll be bringing my own folding chair and a walking stick and my wife as well, and I hope they WILL let her in on the Friday as I won't be strong enough to carry the model box on my own. If they don't I'll be pretty mad, and a few words will be had at high levels about the rules being for the guidance of wise men etc.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Can i suggest Kit you then contact the IPMS UKLO (Phil Cater) in advance rather than leave the issue till the day as its the poor bleedin volunteer and security guard who have to enforce the rules and it's not going to do anybody any good what so ever trying to force the issue  at a doorway on a cold November evening on something only the centre manager and SMW manager can authorise !

Hobbes

I'll be there all weekend, I've got a few models for Project Cancelled and maybe one for What If (1/72 Bucc).

Nick

I plan on being there Friday-Sunday at the What-If stand. Right now I plan on bringing a pair of 1/72 Jaguar size jets, with maybe a couple of extras IF there is space.
