Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

As I am old enough to remember Gerry Andersons stuff first time around and into anything plastic I was bought this for xmas

Many people would build OOB but as a true believer in the only true gods ( whiff and imagination)

it ended up as a blackburn viper F1 from the light carrier HMS Argus circa 1970

all in need is a couple of redtops out of the spares box

Fantastic! Funny how well the M52 fits the transporter.

That is BRILLIANT!

The whole thing is late 1940's Britain to the core, well done.  ;D

Just as it should have looked!

Now you just need a naval officer beside the combination on the ground making a final inspection.  ;D

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

In 1965 when the cost of building the cva01 carrier queen elizabeth got out of hand the navy were forced to rethink its equipment

THE BAC AUCKLAND( typical navy didnt want to use the airforce name)

Very impressed with your BAC / EE Auckland!
Any chances of a front-on photo of your model?
A while ago (well a few years ago) I drew a 'what if' carrier-based derivative of the EE Canberra in the ASW/Maritime strike role! But I could not draw the folding-wing arrangement the way I wanted it  :banghead: Your model catches the folding-wing arrangement I wanted  ;)

we are pretty big on RAF 56 squadron around here so here's  the avro arrow F1

Yes yes!!
I think it a great pity that Britain did not team with Canada to develop and field the Arrow  :banghead:

#104
When it failed to gain a government contract for its F36 Firebolt fighter ( the RAF didn't like the engine mounted cannon and privately didn't want a 285mph biplane for fear of not getting its new monoplanes) Fairey marketed it abroad as the Thunderbolt, Lithuania bought 12, Chile 10 and the nizam of Hyderabad had 6

In early 1939 in need of aircraft for its expansion and with the production of hurricanes and spitfires too slow the RAF relented and bought enough planes for 3 squadrons

In august 1940 the squadrons were sent from there base in Northern Ireland to reinforce the defences around Southampton which had become the target for Stuka attacks.

With their high speed and biplane manoeuvrability the Thunderbolts soon became the scourge of the stukas and the well-known cry

ACHTUNG THUNDERBOLT!was born

The build is a revell / matchbox hawker fury and a raid on the spares box
