Alwas thought the Komet 2 seater was better looking and you have confirmed that.  ;D
Whatever.

MichelC

There's an epilogue to the Komet build: it got a Gold at the IPMS Hellas contest today!

Thought I'd let you know and take this opportunity to thank you all again for the support throughout this build.

PS Don't worry about the canopy. It came unglued during the photo shoot. I'll have it fixed in no time. (They broke it so they had to give me a Gold, lol)

I am not surprised you have won an award with this build it is FANTASTIC

WELL DONE

Remember, if the reality police ask you haven't seen us in ages!
When does "old enough to know better" kick in?

Superb stuff MichelC, did the judges all need magnifying glasses to actually see the 163?  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

MichelC

Thank you, Nils and Kit.

Kit, it was one of the smallest, if not the smallest a/c on the entire table! ;D

Gold?

Damn right! The judge was certainly on the ball.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

nighthunter

Well that explains why your B&V got silver, lol
"Mind that bus." "What bus?" *SPLAT!*

MichelC

Thanks Nighthunter but actually it doesn't. Gold, Silver and Bronze are all granted based on a point system, not for the three best in each category. In other words, theoretically, every kit could receive a Gold. In short: each model starts from 100, points being subtracted for each boo-boo: minus 5 for glue on the canpopy, etc, etc. That's how each model gets a score. If that is above 90, the model receives Gold. It's 80 and 70 for Silver and Bronze respectively, if I remember well.

I find it fair, cause everybody can win, while still tough enough to make it a challenge.
