Just a hint of what I'm building now. This will involve KG 200 in the backstory.

I look forward to your camo scheme - will it be yellow and green - or - the scheme on the B17

It will be OD green up top, with yellow underneath. I'm also going to try to use tape to create the markings, because I only have the decals for the American versions.

Will you change only the colours or also the shape? P-61 glider or 4-engined for instance... ;D

Sticky Fingers

As this is my favourite WW2 fighter, I'm curious how it'll look in KG200 colours.
It's a nicely detailed kit, too. But as far as I can remember there was a major fit-issue with the nose cover.

Have a nice build!

You could replace the radials with in-line engines......

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

That would mean hard work on the booms and wings too...

I got the paints for it on Sunday, so work should begin soon.

A quick update on what I've been doing. Some pics:

(I'm not going to paint the cockpit because the windows are going to be covered up.)

More to follow!

Another update. The backstory is coming soon.

I found out that painted tissue makes good tarps.

I would like to thank Army of One for the decals.

The camouflage must be working, I can hardly see the thing in those pictures...

More shots of the Widow:

Backstory:

In early 1945, two different P-61's were forced down over Germany. The fuselage of one was heavily damaged and the booms of the other were destroyed. The remains of the two aircraft were brought to Detachment Olga, where mechanics combined the two airframes into one. The olive drab P-61, which had been brought in earlier, already had the yellow paint on the underside when the second Widow was brought in. After the combined airframe was finished, it was given Luftwaffe markings, but oddly enough, no identification codes. Records were found later by US troops which gave the Widow the ID code of 'A3+VE'. Another oddity with the markings was that they were the same size as standard Luftwaffe markings, not exaggerated as on another captured aircraft.
