B36J is done, so here's the start of my B25 Zwilling

It looks like you need to buy another B-25.

Piloting might get a little breezy but all the guners can shoot at is each other!

And even with only two half fuselages, the wing and power loading will both be HORRENDOUS!  ;D

Actually that's quite a neat way of building a zwilling. I've done 3-4 of them and I built both fuselages first and then joined then together. Your way makes a LOT of sense and I'm going to try it on a project I have in mind. Neat thinking.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

hmmm me thinks the long wing man needs his eyes testing  ;) ;D, piccies supplied with the post  ;D ;D

plus both models have regulars on the sig stand. And the meatbox has just returned from a posting in the U.S.

What I meant was the build piccies so we could see that very ingenious method of construction.

Thanks!

It was somewhat unintentional. I had the idea, but decided on 1 kit in case the project failed. I bought the second at Hobby Lobby this AM ($21.99 - 40% off online coupon = about $15.50 out the door)

Incidentally this will have 3 vertical stabilizers

So how will the second flight deck be used? Make one heck of a weapons station!

I'm thinking redundancy. The right fuselage will house the bomb sight, while the left will be the primary flight deck. As there is no landing gear in the mid engine, there is a crawl space to access both halves in flight.

Overall I'm thinking of this less as a bomber and more of a bomber escort, like the YB40 and YB41. The bomb bays could be utilized for fuel tanks rather than bombs. The two waist gun positions will have open windows with twin .50s each.

Make one fuselage nmf and the other OD green and grey. The story can be there were two planes shot up on opposite sides so the mechanics just cut off the damaged parts and welded them together........

LOL!

OK, pilot & co-pilot in the left fuselage, navigator in the "pilots" seat in the right fuselage, note his chart table. Gunner only in the left nose, bombardier in the right.

This aircraft is one of two permanently assigned to the 322d squadron of the 91st bomb group out of Bassingbourn. The 322d & 323d squadrons each received two of these in mid '44 to test the concept.

Yes, I know the "Outhouse Mouse" was a B17 with the 323d. After a hard landing that cracked a wing spar, the crew returned from a 48 hour pass to London only to find their B-17 being cannibalized, and that they had been transferred to the 322d to train on the new twin B25.
