Now there's whiff worth building!
A "One size sort-of fits all, (Just not very well), aircraft is a whiff in it's own right. Upgrade programs for the A-10 Warthog and A-6 Intruder look like a better bargain to me.

The Teen series aircraft beg to differ, as well as the Harrier.

How would you upgrade them exactly? A-10s are upgraded often, as they need to be cought up with their faster cousins electronically A-10C is a great example of this, they even have a JHMCS and Scorpion HMIT:

and the navy and Marine rejected the A-6F and G.

Something doesn't quite sit right about an RAF Squadron celebrating its 100th anniversary in California......

And as for two colour RAF roundels in BLACK and WHITE, well words fail me!  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Actually its two shades of Grey, quite how we got suckered by LM into going with that is another question as the USN quite happily added colour to thier F-35C.

Whatever. What's more important is that it ISN'T red, white or blue.

I don't see what the problem is. It looks pretty traditional to me. ;)

I live in hope that one day soon a technology is invented that renders all forms of camo and low visibility paint jobs obsolete and the worlds airforces start painting their aircraft like explosions in a paint factory.

I don't think its a matter of being "suckered." if they wanted it, they would have received it. Its their airplane, just like the USN picked their colors and other F-35s have colors too.

What is the green/aqua coloured area's on some of those F-35's? Some sort of primer? I like the look.

Primer before they apply the paint. F-22s had the same before going to the paint barn. Its a close match to "NYC Jade Green" as it turns out

Just unpainted primer. Have not heard about any paint problems...

Here are some pics where Robots help paint stealth fighters:

There's a reference I never thought I'd see on this site... officially the New York Central called the color "Century Green", and it turned out that despite its adoption as one of the things to be continued into Penn Central *BARF* it failed the most important job of a railroad paint: "Hide The Dirt" (which, trivially, was the entire reason Pullman Green worked so well: rural dirt is more yellow, urban dirt more black, so by having a yellowish black color--something about where PG is--you easily camouflage both).
