I like the deck shot, real impression of speed

Must admit I'm starting to mellow towards her, just wish for a little more colour but that's just old fashioned me

Same. I'm hoping we see more squadron color birds as more squadrons stand up. VMFA-121 has been pretty busy, so I'm not surprised there hasn't been much color, but I would love to see this one:

VMFA-211 is standing up next for the USMC.

Of I ever get around to building my Italeri X-35 as an 'in service' RAF version it'll be in proper green/grey camo!

That would be fun  ;D I always liked that scheme.

Britain is to go all in with its purchase of 138 F-35B to allow for the full carrier airgroups on our two new carriers

So that should mean some more FAA units are formed in the next 14 years as part of Joint Force Lightning  ;D

QuoteSenior government sources said the new aircraft would enable the armed forces to reclaim the Falkland Islands if they were seized by Argentina - something that critics have claimed our navy would be unable to achieve today.

Claimed? Well how could the navy 'reclaim' them? We don't have a single operational carrier...........

Then I vote 899 squadron, the "Fist of the Fleet" is the best emblem ever....ohh and two tone EDSG/white would look awesome, but I realize that is sadly long gone.

I suspect 800 and/or 801 as some of the oldest and longest serving FAA units

I believe thay the following squadrons have been announced so far:
RAF 17 r, transition/ training
RAF 617, Dambusters
FAA 809

So if the full lot is bought, should be some room for 800, 801 in the FAA and a few more RAF squadrons.

Certainly, we may not have been able to afford them............

At the penalty of sounding flippant: The best idea for the F-35 would have been to have never built it and built the F-22 in larger numbers
That being said, I'd like to remind everybody in a manner reminiscent of the SNL bit on Julian Assange, that no matter how I die: It was murder (even if there was a suicide note or a video of me peacefully dying in my sleep); should I be framed for a criminal offense or disappear, you know to blame.

Nice for the USAF, at least the air superiority units, no use to the USN/USMC and the majority of the other customers.  :banghead:

The suggestion for ditching the F-35 early enough improves situation for foreign countries. Without the major political commitment to that program, they can actually buy Eurofighter, or Grippen, or Rafale, or maybe Super Hornet.
