Model Mutt

Thanks Wooksta, got what i need to make a start monday.

Mossie- don´t airfix do the tanker converion for the valiant? if i could get hold of some photos and plans i´d be more than willing to give them a go. The more moulds and kits i make i can reduce the price as i´ll be able to produce them for less

The Wooksta!

Two seat Sea Hawk?  Side by side seating. A Venom canopy modified

Single seat Venom pod to go with Frog/Novo Sea Venom, plus standard Venom exhaust to convert Frog kit to RAF standard, although you'd need a different canopy and possibly some internal bits as the Frog kit was woefully empty.

Tanker Valiant - Airfix have released the conversion sprues for the PR/K versions.  B2 conversion is very involved - there's a build somewhere on Britmodeller with someone doing it from the Mach Poo kit.

The idea for Victor bits is sound - longer B2 wingtips and replacement bomb doors should be fairly easy.

Lincoln mainwheels for late Lancasters?  A2Zee do the fins but no one has released Lincoln mainwheels, although the Paragon Lincoln had them, he just never sold them separately.

There was a white metal Vulcan K2 conversion, maybe by Airwaves? I've got one somewhere, inside my Vulcan box, but I can't find that!

Yeah, I know, how DO you lose something THAT big????

The Wooksta!

C-Scale did one in white metal.  Gary got one at Telford.

Airwaves *might* have done one and I've a feeling that Flightpath have too.

Valiant, don't think theres a tanker conversion available?

What do you think the Airfix conversion set contains?
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Flightpath do a Vulcan K2 conversion, and Aeroclub have the Shackleton wheels which I think were originally Lincoln wheels in the RW.

If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

The Wooksta!

Have you tried getting hold of Aeroclub bits lately?  Rocking horse excrement is by contrast easier to find.

PR bits.  Didn't realise that tanker bits were available in the same conversion.  Lee beat you to it.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

Made some more progress today, got a tsr2 kit cheap as it was missing parts and got to together the lighning delta wings, just need to psr them now. Also was wondering if it´d be worth doing a tsr2 fin with rwr fitted?

Why not? The RAF were bound to have done it eventually.

The Wooksta!

There'd be no need.  The airframe had enough capacity elsewhere for plate aerials.  Tornado didn't, hence carrying all the electronics as scab on pods.

Correct Lee the Aerials were already built into the airframe, Damian Burkes TSR2 Book covers it rather well, for a production aircraft look to Damiens bit about the intakes as they look like they were going to be revised.

Need or not, they'd still look 'cool'.  ;D

(and one of my TSR2s has them installed already.....)
