Excellent model - a silk purse from a sow's ear and utterly believable.
Well done!

beautifully done indeed, and it gives a life to that flying boat which would have deserved more than what it got

EXCELLENT modelling there, especially from that ancient Revell kit!

And your thoughts about the P-6M align exactly with my own, a great pity the USN never put that wonderful looking aircraft into squadron service. Interestingly Martin actually fitted one of the YP-6Ms with a low-drag hydrodynamic tail to the fuselage that looked a little like your aft radome, but later re-instated the gun turret and its assocociated gun-laying radar.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Wow!!
I need to buy the 1/72 kit, as I've used the Revell kit on my other builds :banghead:

Make sure you're on good terms with your bank manager first, as both the Anigrand and Mach 2 versions require LOTS of money!

Thanks, guys!

I appreciate all the feedback.

I have always thought that the Seamaster was an unfortunate victim of "colliding realities", and it really should have been given a chance.

I will definitely try to keep up the good work, especially now that I know it is appreciated! It's amazing how judges at model shows generally just don't seem to get the what-if idea. I'm really glad there's a place like this that does!

Happy New Year to all of you too, albeit in a few days!

Great work on a tough kit! We really need an affordable new kit of this great aircraft.

Agreed...in a "real" scale, instead of Revell's old off-beat box scale

Why do they choose odd scales?

Why do they choose odd scales?

Standard size boxes, and kits to fit, I  suspect.
