My Lancaster phase looks to be over.  I've just dug out several Airfix Spitfire PR19s...

Another world shortage of 1/72 Spitfires beckons......

Nope.  I've just dug out four that were purchased prior to Telford.  One has it's prop nicked, so it'll be a clipped low level one with contraprop in the post war intruder scheme.

Apart from the Airfix Mk IXc, I think I have enough.  Maybe...

I need to get those part done kits finished.

I have a plan for a Super Stirling which needs a Airfix Stirling and a B-29 or B-50 in 1/72 for some parts. Almost got a B-29 at Huddersfield show but some one beat me to it. I just can`t understand why no one seems to make 1/72 B-29`s anymore.

Just about to finish undercarriage, weapons and sensor fit then the markings and varnish the beast.

Just ordered Tamiya smoke paint
so a lightly tinted cockpit on a SEAC scheme, rather than orange/gold tint on this one i think.
too old for a paper round, too young for me pensions, dammit, back to work then!

I think Academy have been in the process of changing distributor so the B-29 family virtually disappeared and the C-97s and other stock items were cleared PDQ at the end of last year. Would have been rather nice to see them box the kit as an RAF Washington B1.

So does that mean your workspaces are now full of mothballed part built Lancasters ? or did you keep the wings off so you can box them up ready for the next surge ?

I never do a final assembly until everything is cleaned up ready to prime.  All the part built ones can fit it one box in major assemblies form.  But there's about 8 that have primer or first coats.

As to my own plans, its to finish assembly of the Avro 768 II for the Project Cancelled AEW theme, getting the basics together just the lower engine/undercarriage bay to sort out and the basic structure should be completed ready for detailing.

Following that i have plans to do the AEW Andover using the YS-11 and Nimrod AEW conversion parts and the early Crowsnest Merlin, so those should keep me busy to SMW.

Whiffing wise, been sorely tempted to do the Supermarine 576 Scimitar upgrade after being inspired by Spinners Flight Sim model and that should prompt me to finish off the Supermarine 583 thats stalled in a box in the stash.

When I finally move the rest of my stuff out my old flat into my new, I might even finish my Super Stirling!! :o
Fortunately however I have most of my stash & modelling gear with me so, I can at least start some of my other projects including ;

BAC Hyperion ( Greek - "Watcher from above"). Supersonic Recon aircraft based on modified Concorde  design. Using 1/72 Airfix kit.
Also, my other 1/72 Concorde will  be just a paint job "whif" I'm going to do it in the PROPER BA colours - ie the Landor scheme. Turns out Halfords Polar Grey is a pretty good match for BA Pearl Grey!!
Airbus / Antonov A-450 - based on Revell AN-124. T-tail & R R Trent engines
Single engine Lightning ( the proper one - not that silly American WWII job!!). Using the Airfix 1/48 Lightning wings/cockpit/undercarriage combined with the fuselage/tail of the Revell Sukhoi SU-7
Also toying with the idea of an SU-22 with side intakes & new nose radome. Using the KP 1//48 kit

Few rough shots after starting the decaling.
I've used the Hannants / Xtradecal set for RB57's and the Airfix RB57 looks like the early 1980'S issue, but the decals seem ok

Just the tinted cockpit glazing, weapons and pylons , undercarriage then I can varnish and finish this off.

TSR2 is finished, now all I do is to make the base and weight it so it doesn't tip.

Russian and IJAAF under way but very difficult to get the air inlets into shape (the kit designer was evil....  :banghead:)
Hope to be able to complete IJAAF in order to participate to asiarama before deadline, if not at least post it some day.....  :-\
_US NAVY fifties Jet fighter with moveable wings like F8U crusader / diorama inspired by Buck Danny comics / I have to pick up in my USN fighters from my stock
_ Polikarpov jet fighter / Airfix + Zezvda kitbash / this one also on work stoppage but hope to be able to complete it in order to participate to asiarama before deadline, if not at least post it some day.....
_ German Navy Saab AJ-37 Viggen / Matchbox (I here salute   Fellow member Nönöbar for German Navy A7   )
_ Hayabusa Next gen / Mig 29 "manga upgrade" / italeri
_ Da Project : Avro Labrador, a WWII British Coastal Command ASW bomber with background story and crew.....
1/48:
_ Curtiss Navy jet fighter (in Navy blue scheme) again in a diorama inspired from Buck Danny comics
_ CF-210, Heir of the CF-105, Forces Aériennes Canadiennes / Canadian Air Force from one very weird idea that popped up while reading Fellow member FAR48 Canadian F4 post
_ F4D-3, a twin seat "Ford" either VX-9 or VT scheme + pilots.
_ a french jet fighter 1950 type Fauvel glider (need to think a little bit further on plans but idea is clear, well at least in my mind!   )
and more ideas to come after reading almost every day What If site  ;)  ...
Look good but as a dedicated Dad   and very obedient husband   , it may take sometimes so any of you interested, just help yourself  ;)
I am not photoshop expert but will try show you some of the plans I made

I'm  going back to some ideas I had when I first  joined this forum.  The folding wing on a shortened Airfix  BAe Nimrod AEW .
Airline version the CV-22 Osprey.
Maritime version of the C-135R.
Using a 1/72 Hustler as a base and the engine housing from a F-117 glued to the upper wing . Single exhaust pipe at the rest. Internal weapons bay.

I have plans for a series of aircraft-animal hybrids (how whif is this?  ), crossing 1/72 or 1/144 kits withs plastic animal figurines in 1/32 e.a., like :

- B2 flying wing crossed with Manta
- Orque and PZL-7
- horses with wings, as a kind of cyber-pegasus :
             --Tornado wings (including moving articulation)
--bi- or quadri- propeller motors wing
- shark with quadri-jet wing

Also floatplanizing a few aircraft like :
- Skyrocket
- Tracker
- Floh

The Wooksta!

The Firefly I got from Kitbasher is looking at me suggestively, asking me to build it as a COD aircraft...
