i dont plan much ahead for modelbuilding,
but for the remainder of 2015 i have the following plans:

What If:

-Spitfire Mk.1 in Belgian colors (in progress)
-Russian COIN Tucano (about to start)
-at least 1 more Luft'46 model
-a number of 1/144 scale models
-.......
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

Have several projects in mind:

Top Priority

TSR2 What if 1960's USAF SEA paint with black undersides. Konoha Defense Forces 9th Attack Squadron based in the Land of Waves. Marking to be the emblem of the Konoha leaf.

F/A-3C Shinden II What if in JASDF blue cammo. Konoha Defense Forces 7th Strike Fighter Squadron, the Kyuubi No Kitsunes. Based at the main Will Of Fire air base, Konohagakure, Land Of Fire.

I am basing the KDF on a both a story I've read on Fan Fiction dot Net and one I am writing to be posted at the same site. The stories and therefore the models are taken from a modernized vison of the anime and manga Naruto.

Secondary projects are KDF what if's for the F-19, HH-60H and HV-22. At this time I have not only a hardened aircraft shelter for most likely the F-19 but plenty of GSE, figures and stores. My latest acquisition is a rare set of USN NAS flight line equipment and a pair of mobile electric power plants, one each NC-2 & NC-8. Due to the rarity of the flight line equipment I may use the ones I bought as masters and pour copies for my own use. I can't see messing up something as old and rare as these for a diorama when the means of making copies in available.

As for my choice of setting, main story aside the land in which Naruto is set is a land in almost constant conflict, both overt and covert. Since there are long held grudges between the villages it would only make sense that once the land is brought into the modern age those grudges would resurface once again. As I build my kits I plan on writing my story to give a believable background to those kits and dioramas.

Those are some interesting projects ! Love the blue/blue scheme.

In my case its do a few more OOB build (with a Project Cancelled or What-If tilt of course , although some will be real too) rather than get bogged down with a big project.

Looking forward to the new Shackleton and Sea king Commando from Airfix, hoping we'll see a few more Cold War 72nd scale releases next year too.
Got some early RN Phantoms to do using the new RAM models decals and I might give the HL a blast as my original formed the basis of Martins masters.

Still want to do the Naval VG lightning using the sword kit as that was on hold to see if Freightdog brought their conversion out.

Well nearly there Freightdog are doing the Lightning VG conversion although that is for the Single Seater F-6 based VG version rather than the full blown Sea Lightning, so some scratch-building will be required. But that's a nice little project made all the more easier thanks to Freightdog ;D.

I meant to do the Sea Lightning after doing the F-4 FVS and the Vickers 583 but ran out of time and got distracted by other projects after that so it is time I got a new one going.

Excellent...good news for us Lightning VG fans and wanna be`s  Looking forward to watching yours progress. Always happy to watch and learn and copy

I`ve got 3 kits ( at least ) in the stash, a Matchbox T, Sword T and the new Airfix F. It will be interesting to see what`s in the Freightdog set, as I might go that route, but it will be cheaper ( obviously, especially due to shipping and the weak CDN dollar, (that might go up once that autocrat dictator Harper is deposed next week )

Having just reread "Fatherland", wouldn't it be interesting if Vietnam (no N or S) had Communist insurgents being countered by a force of Luftwaffe and Japanese 'Farm Gate' style aircraft...older WWII era aircraft reconditioned for COIN ops. All those a/c whiffy potentials..... ;D

PR19_Kit

I'll be happy just to build some more Whiffs in 2016!  :banghead:

Or at least finish off some of the 20+ I have still in the build stage. But I'll have no chance to even start on any of them until after Telford.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Oh, I like that idea. Well done that man.

Colours? A cross between Splinter and SEA Camo?

Turbo-prop Stuka.
Me-410/B-26K type.
Shinden III/IV interceptor for top cover.
We need a Spooky type gunship, but I can not think of what type.
Alle kunst ist umsunst wenn ein engel auf das zundloch brunzt!!

Sic biscuitus disintegratum!

Cats are not real.
They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Any aircraft can be improved by giving it a SHARKMOUTH!

Now how about a Me323 gunship . I do like the idea of a turbo-stuka .

I was considering SEA camo but with Luft/RLM colours.

Had another idea for the Airfix Rotodyne to add the cockpit stack from the Westland Wessex. Doors at the front and back, with two sliding doors either side of the fuselage.
Prices are quite reasonable on a certain auction website.

Been reading the thoughts of a B-24 Liberator AEW. This would fit into my collection.
Another idea would be a KEC-121 Constellation.
The HP Victor AEW FASS still needs another resin kit fitted to where the nose section (rear AEW Nimrod radome).

McColm

I haven't forgotten the Rotodome EC-97 AEW Waddington in 1/72 using the Academy C-97 as a donor model. Started on the engines.

Got another idea to do a bomber version of the C-97.

Oddly the Airfix Lockheed S-3 Viking parts fit the Rotodyne. So a fixed wing turbojet. Using the Rotodyne stack as a platform for the Rotodome AEW
I'm using the jet tip rotors on the Fairey/Bristol type 170 Beagle Gunship autogyro with twin rotors and RR Griffon engines for forward flight. Bomb bay is from the Varsity.

1) finish all started builds;
Sea Moose (amphibious Grumman E-1B look-a-like)
Lockheed Proteus ( cross between a Fairey Gannet, Neptune with C-119 wings. Nose mounted double mamba engine, single ventral radomes, rear radome.
Avro Shackleton/Carlton twin turboprop AEW & C.
Avro jet powered Shackleton airliner.
EC-97 AEW Waddington.
EB-29 AEW Wyton.
HS/BAe Nimrod 'Sky guardian' tanker AEW stretch.
Lockheed P-3AEW.
Bristol Rotodyne Beagle AEW
Grumman/EuroFighter Typhoon XL - Typhoon with an F-16 XL wing two seated, conformal tanks.
Triumph TR8 hatchback/Lynx.
Grumman turbo-tracker with Hawkeye spin top rotodome.
Lockheed Rotodyne.
