After I finish my USS Solace LHD hospital ship, I may start next on another what if 1/350 USS New Jersey battleship project. It'll have more armament than you can shake a stick at. Enough to do some major butt kicking against the Russians, Chinese, and North Koreans!  ;D
Modeling isn't just about how good the gluing or painting, etc. looks. It's also about how creative and imaginative you can be with a subject.
My modeling philosophy is: Don't build what everyone else has done. Build instead what nobody has seen or done before.

I've ordered the Mach2 Martin Sea Master, been after this kit for ages.
In my mind I think I can create something similar to the Be A-40 Mermaid/Albatross.
A long -term project.

More cars this year.  I need to get the balance between cars and whiffing (not that the cars are not also whiffs) to 50/50.  Particularly since my car stash puts my whiff stash to shame.
And with that in mind I have pulled out my scratchbuilt Winnebago project and have started work on the interior.  It would also be nice to build my Chrysler Turbine Car and at least one of the Ed Roth kits..

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

just finished 2 trumpeter 1/144 YF-23's, and i still have a 1/72 Italeri version in the stash.
from some testing, and in combination with decals from an F-22A, i think i can make a great F-23A production aircraft.
on the bench:

-all kinds of things.

My goals this year are to finish some models before the Group Builds finish and to get a few others done in time for the Scottish Nationals too.

I know it's in a book I have around here somewhere....

Pretty much mine too, record for finishing GB's has been very poor lately --   mind you, the usual 2 month GB isn't enough time for me even with an extra week tacked on, this 3 month Cold War one might be about right for time.
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

To put up pictures of my finished builds, as I have a tendency to recycle parts or started builds.

You'll like it, LOADS of bits in there, even if a few are a tad 'Mach2-ish' in shape. Plus it comes with the wildly complex beaching trolley, a big advantage over the Anigrand kit.

I suggest you order a couple of Anigrand vacform canopies though, which I did. A] They're of the production version whereas Mach 2 supplies the pre-production canopy but with the production airframe, and B] You can actually SEE through the Anigrand ones. The Anigrand canopies are pretty cheap, easy to order and are shipped quickly.

Thanks for reminding me, mine's been up in The Loft for EVER!  :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Got an idea for the B-58 and B-47 to use the spare engines from the Sea Master kits.
Either over wing or under wing concepts.
Might be able to convert the B-47 into something amphibious.

McColm

Just a thought of using the wings and engines from a Avro Vulcan and adding them to either the Anigrand or Mach2 Martin Sea Master.
Might have a problem as the Vulcan is circular and the Sea Master has a oblong fuselage.

On page 103 of Chris Gibson "Nimrod's Genesis " Slideshows NATO and the Trinity. There's a line drawing of Breguet proposed Br.1250 flying boat,  that used many shared components from the Br.1150 Atlantic.
Having bought the Hasegawa 1/72 Martin SP-5B Marlin, a lot of the parts from the Revell or Mach2 Br.1150 Atlantic models could be used such as the; tail, engines and windows.  The cockpit section however is too wide but the Heller 1/100 L085
might be a better fit.
However as a Whiff the Atlantic tail, engines and MAD boom would fit on the Marlin. A deeper or rap round windows painted using a paint mask.

The Grumman E-1 Tracer was fitted with the Hazeltine AN/APS-82 S radar. What if this radar was fitted to an Avro Shackleton.
As the Mk2 kit is available and examples of the Mk3 are still around or can be bought on certain auction websites, sourcing the Hazeltine can be in vacform or what Mach2 calls plastic.

I built the Frog/Novo (Revell) Mk3 and converted it into a twin turboprop AEW using parts from the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye kit.
As the demand for the Rotodome on my other builds is high fitting the AN/APS-82 seems a logical step forward.
The landing gear has been fitted with skis but the camouflage green paint scheme will be replaced with Arttic /Antarctic colours. I created a flat nose and  MAD boom. The twin tail fins and the wingtips have been squared off. However the fuselage is twisted and this leans from left to right.

NARSES2

Was looking at my A&V Miles Libuela last night. Thinking about what to do with it ? Was thinking about a FAA general purpose type for Escort carriers. Fighter, anti-sub aircraft type of thing.

Also looking at my 1/200 "Bear" was thinking of a US type developed as the safe fallback in case the B.52 failed. SE Asia camo used over S Vietnam as a bomb truck ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

In the Royal Artillery Museum at Woolwich there is a Tracked Rapier vehicle.
I've seen diecast models on line but I think with a collection of parts create a range of tracked vehicles.
