Tom MZ in Brighton....got a few shelves with 40% off due to incomplete kits....got an Airfix 1/24 Spitfire MkV with Gleeds markings....for £20...!!! Incomplete....the only bit missing on inspection, one engine side....no dramas an a bargain....also got an Airfix 1/48 Harriet GR3 for £9....unfortunately missing the clear sprue....chap thought it was a plastic part....gonna need to get one.....any ideas....? Contact Airfix n wait as no hurry or try an aftermarket manufacturer...falcon...?

hank, i'd write airfix a note. explain the circumstances and ask for replacement parts.

meanwhile, i've also got me hands on......

1/72 airfix harrier GR.1 the new tool kit and very nice it is too. just slightly surprised at the ommission of the centreline pylon. anyone else noticed this? well done airfix!!!  ;D

Yeah.....I'll do that....got a few positive replies re a question I posed....I was surprised the GR3 came with Sea Eagle but no BL755's which is what I'd have prefered...got 4 Matra rocket pods and two tanks an two sidewinders (Falklands fit) but I'd have liked a centre line pylon and a BL755 or two.....

Because the GR3 used sprues from the Sea Harrier - I think it was the winders so the Sea Eagles are surplus as SHAR only. BTW Check the Matra's as i have a feeling they are the Naval 3 row launchers used becuase the SNEBs could be triggered by the ships electronics in the Falklands.

From Modelzone Deansgate Manchester:

Airfix 1/72nd Aichi D3A1 Val x 2  - reckon they're good basis for speculative dive bombers generally, and they have awesome spats...

Airfix 1/72nd NATO Ground Crew

Hobbyboss 1/72nd Mi-2URP Hoplite antitank variant - Yugoslavia built Gazelles and Alouette IIIs with Saggers and SA-7s, so I wondering what if they built something else too: Lynx? Dauphin?

Looked long and hard at a 1/48th trumpeter Me-509, but resisted.....

You could possibly go as far as a Puma, SA tried it afterall although it might end more like a Rambo II Hind impersonator, but Dauphin and Lynx should be good

There is a guy on Britmodeller building one at the mo and the pics show the pods as being of the 2 row variety.

Recently got a Tiger Meet Tornado from Revell - from a toy shop in Beckenham, near where I now work. And recently one of my workmates handed me a 1/72 scale Tornado from a magazine his son had got to read. It's all there with two notable exceptions, the decals and the top part of the fuselage. (Said fuselage being divided into top and bottom halves) Graham isn't sure where it might be but he'll try to find it for me. Which is decent of him in my eyes.

Talking with the shop owner, I commented that there had been a lot of changes in the shop. The Hornby railway section has been removed (He gets special orders in for them). And he tells me around October/November he'll be getting a visit from the Airfix rep, just in time for Christmas! Watch this space!
If I am targetted by JMNs, I'm in good Company.

Is that the toy shop in the High St ? I've started to use Beckenham for my shopping as it has a good selection of stores, easy to get to by bus and has a Costa's  ;D I noticed the shop and wondered if he did anything model related.
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Yes Narses2, that is Beckenham Sports and Toys, they have brushes, paints and glue as well as some Revell kits (the ones WITH the paint!).

As I said they will be getting a rep calling in October/November from Airfix. Here is the website address: http://www.beckenhamtoys.co.uk/

Nice to have some shops, that actually DO sell models.

MY EDIT:

I have found they also have a branch called Petts Wood Toys. They have the ubiquitous Facebook page and twitter etc.
