I know I shouldn't have, but I couldn't help it. It's siren song was so compelling, so strong. The Revell boxing of Zvezda's MI24V Hind. The decals are beautiful, especially the Czech artwork.

I've been sorely tempted by that one, I must admit...

Honestly Pyro, give into temptation on this one. It's worth it. I fondled the pastic last night and all I can say is WOW!!! Revell have done a damm good job at reboxing it. If only for the decals...they are bloody awsome.

A Flying Saucer...actually it'll be a "Fliegende Untertasse"....in reality, a lawn water-spray thingy from ASDA which needs some additions :banghead: :banghead:

I've been looking for a frisbee to act as the basis for a scratchbuild 'Adamski' style UFO but haven't found one yet that has the right taper.

Actually just found a book that states the difference between the Mk I and Sea Gladiator are: extended case/link chutes due to the dingy fairing, external deck arrestir hook and catapult points. It mentions differences to the ammo box lids to facilitate reloading in the wing in accordance with RN procedure. It also mentions provision for two browning guns in upper wing firing ourboard of the prop and with 300 rpg...no pic though
Book ref is 'Famous fighters of WW2' by William Green p185/6

In all honesty just add the A Frame hook and maybe the dingy pack and you could get away with it

Second that. AFAIK, there's a conversion kit out there with these parts, but scratching them should not be too difficult.

Father Ennis

Just got this month's box from Squadron, today.

All Airfix kits and some 3D-kits from the UK
1) Spitfire Mk 1
2) Spitfire Mk V
3) RAF  Emergency set
4) RAF  Recovery set
5) RAF. Refueling set
6) 3D- kits conversion for a Spitfire Mk II  long range fighter (two piece tank and decals
7) 3D - kits conversion for  two Spitfire Mk II and/or Mk I  with decals for five planes.

Can someone recommend a good paint for the RAF blue I need ?  Also, I need a good Sky as well...

NARSES2

For Sky I use Xtracrylic Sky but have used both Tamiya and Lifecolor in the past.

What blue do you mean ?

Chris
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Father Ennis

The blue for the equipment and the uniforms if it's much different. I've read some folks like Model Master for their Sky paint.
Thanks for the help. I can get those colors from Squadron mail-order,which is fine. I just haven't built an airplane since the early  90' s.  An all black French night fighter ,built OOB.

6 x lawn sprinkers....2 designs.
One design needs a proper hull; the other is OK, just needs a decent exhaust.

All 6 "fliegende untertasse" will be German in a variety of schemes.

I also have a couple of slightly different options for the USAF and RAF. One RAF was done a couple of years ago.

Had a look at them ASDA sprinklers.  Can't see them as flying saucers somehow.

Still can't find the right shape...

We bought a toy for our youngest from 'The Entertainer' called a Squizzle, from the Cbeebies cartoon 'Tree fu Tom'.  It has a pretty interesting asymetric saucer shape, and is made of foam - and only cost £4 - worth taking a look?

This is the shape I'm looking for:

Ignore the "cabin" area, I'll worry about that bit later.
