I keep looking at my RAF version and shaking my head muttering "one day, one day"

Went into Croydon MZ and felt like a vulture but hey. Just got some glue, spray varnish, clearfix, brushes etc. All the afore mentioned 50% off. Kits still 20% off. Never seen the place so busy and this wasn't lunchtime. Guy in shop reckoned on 2 weeks before stocks gone.

Bought second-hand, for the princely sum of $Au10.00 an Airfix AC-130H in 1/72.   I wasn't aware that Airfix had ever produced an AC-130.   Only problem is a broken windscreen which I hope Airfix will be able to replace.

Hi Rikshaw, you got a bargain there! When Airfix got taken over by Palitoy they altered the original C-130 mould permantly to AC- version. Hasn't been rereleased in a long time. Not sure you'll be able to get the right windscreen as they use the Italeri mould for the standard transport issues now.

Woo hoo! Finally got an MPM Trent Meteor off ebay for a sensible price!

The plan is for it to be one of three factory demonstrators that Gloster are desperately flogging in the mid 1950s having lost the RAF night fighter contract to the DH.110. This Gloster "Ripper" will have a big gun in a pod under the fuselage, offset nosewheel, F.8 canopy, underwing fuel tanks, wing-tip rocket pods and a glossy "non-specific" cammo with civvie serials.

Am I the only one who thinks "Trent Meteor" sounds like a cheesy 1950's pop star by the way?  ;D
