1/48th Tamiya Volkswagen Type 82E staff car (VW Beetle)
Revell 1/100th Apollo Lunar Module

Hi H

So is F&S helping make up for the loss of both Modelzones ?, its hard to believe there is no longer a modelshop of any form in central Manchester  :banghead:

From Derby: a pair of S-Model BRDMs (ATGW variant - one to be fitted with Sagger or maybe Malkara and the other with Seacat missiles), some 2400 scale ironclad vessels for Space 1889 naval warfare, a resin Vickers Medium tank, an octet of very nice large heavy-duty wheels/ tires in resin (for a VBCI/ MRAV/ GTK-style vehicle I have yet to design) and a dozen palm trees and MDF bases.

I was surprised to find that the BRDM (actually sold as 9P148) still has the turret on the sprues - bonus!
What if... I had a brain?

Well to an extent, but the Beetle was more an exercise in support-your-local-model-shop to be honest: I could have got it off the internet weeks ago, but I thought F&S had one (they didn't at the time), went in, got talking and ended up going back a few more times to see if their delivery had come in. The other stuff has been targets-of-opportunity: I mean it'd be rude to go into a little model shop and not buy something, wouldn't it.... ;)

To be honest, I'm not feeling the pain much here in Stockport. I've got a Hobbycraft in town, F&S in Droylesden, SMTF at Poynton, Warren Kerfoot's at Compstall and Cheshire Models in Macclesfield. Going to the MZ on Deansgate was always a bit of an expedition (traffic, parking etc...) and the one in the Trafford Centre likewise (I don't like crowds much), and quite a few times, I went into MZ when there wasn't a sale on and came out with nothing.

Oh yes! The results of that will be worth watching.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

72nd.
S-Model do the standard (turreted) BRDM as well, in that one you get the 5 missile tubes as extras: the only difference between the two kits is the altered hull top (turret/ missile launcher mounting holes and different crew hatches).
Two kits per box for ~£11. And it includes PE for headlamp guards and grab rails.
Either Ebay (some shop in China, about two weeks' delivery time) or Plastic Soldier Company in the UK (the Chinese shop is cheaper for the kit, but postage makes it roughly the same price as buying it from PSC).

Now there's a co-incidence. I only looked at mine in the stash again this a.m. whilst dragging something else out by Anigrand. Can't decide whether to do as RAF in the interdictor role (Canberra's are bomber/pr only) or in French service. It will stay there until I decide, so could be a while
