Box arrived from Big H with a zillion 20 mm cannon barrels for my B-35, four 200 gal tanks for a Sea Harrier (even though I ordered 100 gall tanks I'm not complaining ) and a Sword Harrier T4 kit.

The latter maybe lacking in surface detail, as mentioned in some hyper-critical reviews, but it's MAGNIFICENT! Has pre-painted etches for the cockpit, loads of detail bits and the only openable canopy on any 2 seat Harrier kit.

Arrived first thing this morning in the post from Hobbylink Japan via German customs (luckily nothing to pay)
These two;

The Typhoon apparently is the Revell one re boxed by Hasagawa, the Markings/colour scheme from some kind of
Show/series about which I know nothing
I know its a matter of taste, but I found the colour schemes somewhat different and thought why not?
Total cost for the two plus P & P 38Euros, which is about what I'd have to pay for one Tomcat bought here.
Result!!

The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

Sounds a good system. In future I'll order any stuff from Japan to go via Germany and keep the greedy, grasping hands of HM Revenue and Customs, UK Border Controls and the Post office off MY money!

Not a problem - but at last, there's an alternative to the Matchbox kit in 1:72, so I was curious :)

Right there are 2 boxings -

The F3D-2 which I got. 5 markings options, 3 Marine Sqds in Korea and 2 USN Squadrons. Looks good on the sprues. Plastic is typical Sword, little shiny and a tad soft but the engraving is nice and subdued  Clear sprue is separately packed.

Other boxing is an EF-10B/F3D-2T2 version

I'm happy with it  ;D

Thank you!

Won't work, I suspect. Germany will have a similar system to the UK: packages below a certain value aren't taxed, if the listed value exceeds the limit then Customs take their cut.

The trouble is that the 'limit' in the UK seems to be £0. Both Martin H and I have had issues where the various charges imposed by the bodies I mentioned have exceeded the value of the kit!

Indeed they do, but my postman told me that I was under the limit ;D
It's always a bit of a risk ordering from outside the EU.

Google-fu turns up this hit from Wiki-

in the Netherlands and Germany (and probably the entire Euro zone), there are two limits:
- up to 22 Euros, you don't pay any taxes
- between 22 and 150 Euros, you pay VAT only
- over E 150, you pay VAT and a 'customs charge' (which varies per type of goods imported, and is subject to such regular change the NL customs don't even offer a list of these charges on their website, they refer to their phone helpdesk).
- in addition, items over E 22 may be subject to a handling fee due to the extra cost incurred in figuring out the above

PR19_Kit

In the UK it'd be nice to actually HAVE a Help Desk.

The UK Border Control 'organisiation' (the word 'organisation' is used here in its WIDEST possible sense!) closed theirs down 'due to staff shortages'. Not to mention that they are such a shambolic operation that anyone who deals with them has to phone as they don't pay any attention to emails.....
