UPS guy came to the door with a box. Containing a parcel. containing a paper wrapped Styrofoam sarcophagus, which in turn contained a paper wrapped box.....now I probably should have tossed that under the tree so I'd have something to get excited about Christmas morning ( other than liquor   ) But I opened it.....and wow ! Thanks Stevie ! What a lovely surprise.

I used it to pull a gag on my LHS owner Dave.

Me, walking in with my usual " Anything new ? " As I slip said kit from my coat and into the 72nd scale Airfix pile
Dave : Nope
Me : What's this ?
-Dave coming out from behind counter and noticing it....the look on his face was pretty funny !

Oh, he's originally from Cheshire so you can imagine where his aviation loyalties lie

Thanks again my brother !

Hehe, no, but it's an interesting idea. Goodness knows how many tankings a Lightning would need to get down there!

Actually it was just the realisation that I hadn't got a Skyhawk of any form in The Loft, something that can't really be allowed to happen.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Hell's Bells, you could practically have bought a real one for that much!

From Airfix directly:

2 x 1/72nd Harrier GR.1s
2 x 1/72nd Skyhawks (to be FAA)

Feel a bit guilty about not buying them via the LHS, but I had a 15% voucher that could only be redeemed through the website. I was trying to use it to get a Mk.1 Hurricane, but it's been in and out of stock over past few weeks and I've never been sat at a PC when it's been in. Eventually I gave up and used it to buy the Harriers and Skyhawks instead, and then the day after, the Hurricane came back into stock again.....

Have to say, Airfix's mail order service is really first class. I ordered these on Wednesday night (actually 2am on Thursday morning) and they arrived on Friday   I only didn't get them until today because my neighbours took delivery of them while I was out at work and this was the first chance they had to bring them round.

It's a 30-ton tracked armoured vehicle: you always have somewhere to park it.......

.....make a six cannon armed Lightening, not 100% sure if this was done in real life or not though

It should have been theoretically possible to fit the F6 tank gun pack to an F2A as the structures were almost the same, but there might not have been enough room in that cramped airframe to take the extra wiring! Maybe a double cable duct along the fuselage side could solve that?

That's a possibility Kit, or I could just do it without as who but the dedicated JMN's would really know?
